    AOpen AX4BS Pro

I need suggestions for replacement of a 1500uf 6.3v cap which is larger in diameter than the other similar caps on the board. Perhaps one of the polymers would work?

This is one of the highest rated electrolytic 1500uf cap out there:

    https://www.badcaps.net/store/produc...roducts_id=139

There's also an 8mm 6.3V version stocked, but it seems to me that the silkscreening there indicates clearance for either an 8mm or 10mm cap.

If you want a polymer cap, this is backordered:

    Only in 10mm though.

Those polies have been on backorder for months now. I'd just go with a lytic
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

          AOpen MX36LE-UN which replacement caps?
          by kahlil88
Just got a computer with this board and ALL of the Lelon RXA caps have failed. Having trouble finding datasheets to match against potential replacements. The caps in question are 7x 1500uf 6.3V 10x20 and 11x 1000uf 6.3V 8x12. Open to replacing with polymers as long as it works.

Xbox 1.6 Motherboards and Polymer Capacitors
          by qwerty99
          Hello!

I need to change the capacitors on my three original Xboxes.

Two of them are 1.6B revisions and have Hynix RAM, and the other one is a 1.6 with Samsung RAM.

The 1.6 has the infamous Nichicon HM capacitors around the CPU, which have all bulged and started to leak. This Xbox no longer powers on.

The 1.6B revisions have Rubycon MBZ capacitors that all look fine, but I’ll change them in due course. Both of these work fine.

I’ve seen some excellent threads on the forum about replacing/upgrading capacitors, but I can’t...

Lowest ESR capacitors, preferably liquid electrolytics but polymer also welcome
          by Perry Babin
I'm looking for suggestions for electrolytics that are 10mm diameter and up to 25mm tall, through-hole radial capacitors with 5mm lead spacing. The value needs to be in the range of 330uF to 470uF. I typically use 35v caps due to their lower ESR vs 16v caps. Currently, the Panasonic FC is being used but the FM series is under consideration.

This is for the primary side of a switching power supply in a car audio amplifier.

Is there a way to calculate power dissipation in a capacitor to predict which will operate at a lower temperature? For example, a 470uF may have a...

Motherboards boot, won't load O/S. Possible KZG problem?ibb
          by bigbeark
I have an Asus P5GV-MX that uses 2 KZG 1000uf 16V in the VRM circuit.

I also have a Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 that has 3 KZG 1500uf 1I6V in the VRM circuit.

I tested both these boards with a working Sata HDD and neither of them will start the O/S.

They both boot fine and show the MX Linux first screen. When I press Enter to start the O/S, they hang with a blinking cursor on a blank screen.

If I select the option that shows the detailed loading steps, it shows 2 lines, last of which is "loading Ramdisk" after which the same blinking...

Another water pump automation project (suggestions ?)
          by Dannyx
Good day folks. Some of you may recall that a while ago I was struggling to put together what I considered to be a very basic automation for a water supply system. It didn't work out the way I intended and I learned my lesson to do it properly from the start, rather than try to reinvent the wheel and patch something together myself from scratch, so I'll stick to commercial alternatives for future projects and such a project just came in today !

This one is easier simply because this time the pump and level sensors are in the same place, so they don't require a remote connection....
