    SMD Capacitor Identification

My Sapphire Radeon 8500LE decided it was tired of one of its SMD capacitors, and decided to let it fall off the PCB while I was installing it in the computer today. Not having too much luck identifying the value, so I could use some help there. Hopefully I have a standard cap that will replace it - I can get a non-SMD cap to fit on the board.

        Re: SMD Capacitor Identification

I was not very successful finding something locally to replace this thing - would appreciate some more advice. I managed to find the following new caps, after being completely misunderstood by the sales staff at two different places. Turns out "low ESR" is a language they don't speak.

        Fuhjyyu TN series - 25v, 100uF
Yubright, unknown series - 16v, 100uF (the alternative at the same place was Gloria)

I grabbed two of each since they were cheap. I also found an old Rubycon 85 degree general purpose cap that will work in my parts box - 6.3v, 100uF.

So, my question now is, do I use one of the above, or wait for my next big Digikey order which could be months away when I can get something decent?

Take the rubycon, if the fails or makes the system unstable order some non SMD caps from TC. Fuhjyyu and Gloria are noth worth the truble, as i don`t think they will survive any long.I have recently replaced some GSC from an GF4MX440 card, even there was no switching regulator both badcaps have bulged leading to minor crashes when playing 3 d games.

Thanks - used the Rubycon and the card is doing fine with it

Do the world a favor, KILL THE Fuhjyyu WITH FIRE!!!

(or just apply the rated DC voltage to it and watch it fail within 3 months)
