    MS6178 Ver1.1

    Hey all,

the board in question has a bundle of Tayeh caps .. 1000uf 6.3v, 1000uf 10v and 1500uf 10v.. i thought two of those caps had blown (some of the 1500uf 10v caps) but at further inspection i have noticed that although they are right next to the tayeh caps it's actually two Lelon of Pelon 1500uf caps. They look almost identical in pattern and colour.
after i removed them they had left some brown discolouration on the board underneath.
my question is given that the only two blown caps on the board the Lelon's would i be safe to assume that the tayeh caps are alright? and is that brown discolouration anything to be concerned about?

    thanks guys

If you're recapping the board, take advantage of the situation and recap every large cap, including the Tayehs. They may be slightly better than Lelon, GSC, YEC, etc., but not by much.

And clean the crud - isopropyl alcohol, rubbing alcohol should be OK - as it may be conductive.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

        MSI K7T266 Pro (Ver. 1.0)
        by ssl6
        Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker, but I think this is my first time posting.

Just looking for some assistance on identifying some suitable replacement capacitors for an MSI K7T266 Pro (Ver. 1.0). I just got my hands on two of them actually, both working but one has some visibly bulging capacitors and the other has a few that I can't tell for sure if they're bulging because it's faint at best if they are.

I'll be honest I don't fully understand much on capacitor spec sheets beyond voltage and capacitance but I can solder like nobodies business so I've...

Hisense H58AE6100UK - discolouration and slow load on right side of display
        by djmka
        Hello.
I have a Hisense 58" 4K television which has a strange issue whereby the right half of the screen takes slightly longer to load an image than the left. It also has discolouration and horizontal blocks. I've attached images of the colour problem and blocking but do not know how to attach a video of the lagging. Can anyone please advise me how to upload a video? Many thanks...

I replaced one Xbox 360 16v 1500uF Cap with 25v 2200uF what issues will it cause?
        by Rotsinger
So the 16v 1500uF capacitor C9B1 near the power connector on the back of a Phat started leaking. Haven't been able to find the right cap, so I replaced it with a larger 25v 2200uF capacitor a couple weeks ago and everything is working fine since then. I didn't replace the other six 16v caps, they were all good.

When putting the fan plastic cover back I remember there were maybe 2-3 mm of clearance on top of it and 1-2 mm of clearance to the side of it.
For those that don't remember what the fan cover looks like I found this picture https://cdn.quade.co/wp-content/uploads/2...

        3COM OfficeConnect Gigabit Switch 16

        3COM OfficeConnect Gigabit Switch 16 (3C1671600)

The switch has served me for 10+ years (was new when I bought it). It's a nice switch with connections on the back which makes for quite a clean desk. Reason for taking it apart was that the cooling fan was noisy so I expected it to be dirty/dusty inside and the need to order a new fan. What I found was that it was very dirty/dusty and some electrolytic capacitors which needs attention. There are 3 capacitors which needs to be replaced but the ESR on some of the other ones might be bad as well so I think I'll replace them all. Original...

        Abit BE6-II motherboard
        by ziplock
        Greetings,

I have an Abit BE6-II motherboard that posts sporadically with the bare minimum components installed - CPU, RAM, PSU, and a Keyboard. I know it posts when the speaker beeps. Re-seating the components has no effect.

I thought the sporadic posting might be capacitor related. Upon inspection, non of the caps are bulged or leaking and they are all original. So, I pulled them ALL. While the ESR is OK, over half of them are leaking current between 1 and 2 mA. The biggest offenders are way out of spec, like a 1500uf / 6.3V measuring 2600uF and many of the 820uF caps...
