Sorry my webcam kinda sucks, I'm wondering if these caps are getting puffy or if its the stamped X indented on the top ?
Also my board is missing 2 regulators, that normal ?

Dell U2718Q, horizontal lines. second opinion welcome
            by vulubalulu
I have never seen an issue such as this one. horizontal lines across the monitor in a consistent manner. I am really interested to get to the bottom of this and I'd value any input from the community.
There are three separate PCB parts attached to each other. They function as SMPS, backlight driver and main board.
I checked the all three blue PCBs: SMPS outputs 19V, PWM controller + mosfets without anomalies, main board has 3V, 5V, 10.5V and 19V present. Crystals output the right clockspeed. This is to be expected as the monitor turns on.
I haven't explored at the green PCB (TCON...

i was a proud owner of a new lenovo y560 laptop
for me it was a very new experience to use a laptop . i had used only desktop PC many times. i enjoyed playing games on my laptop very much. This pleasure lasted only till the day there was a electric power cut followed by a power surge at my home and while i was playing a game (crysis 2) . when the power cut happened the laptop Operating System went automatically to power saving mode...so the heatsink cooling fan stopped spinning and then ( a few seconds later ) as soon as the electric supply resumed and power surge happened the laptop shifted...

HP Omen 17-w104no dead PCH? Second opinion
            by peku
            Hi,

            First some laptop info:
            Model: HP Omen 17-w104no
            Motherboard: Quanta G38D
            CPU: Core i7 I7-6700HQ (I think?)
            GPU: nVidia GTX 1070

What happened: plugged in an old smartwatch for charging/syncing after years of no use, after a while computer just shut down, leaving a little white light at the power button. Pressing power after that, nothing happens. After opening up case and disconnecting/connecting battery, not even that white light appears, no light on the charging connector either.

            I've tried diagnosing with a multi-meter...

            Audio Wire Connector Question/Opinion!?...
            by jdbird613
So I've got this old "Program One" stereo receiver & equalizer, and the RCA jacks are pretty crummy from sitting idle for 20+ years, so I've ordered new jacks to replace the old ones...upon inspection, I see that the backside of the jacks are actually wrapped (pics) with the their specific wires...no sort of connectors present. I am taking a short cut and attaching 22-20 guage pull to seat terminals to the wires, and then connecting to backside of the RCA jacks as the pics show. They are are very snug fit, and I also plan to add solder for reinforcement. Can anyone offer me their...
