    Viewsonic VP211b VGA woes

Hello. this is my first time posting on the forum so please excuse my wordiness and thanks in advance for ANY and all help you can give me!!

I have a Viewsonic VP211b which I had been using as my main monitor through DVI. I just bought an HP Touchsmart and and SIIG USB to VGA converter so I could still use my Viewsonic as a secondary monitor. I installed all the software, downloaded the viewsonic drivers for my OS (7 x64) and I cannot get the viewsonic to even check the VGA port. When I turn the monitor on, it runs through D-SUB DVI-A and DVI-D and and says no signal detected.

How do I get it to go through the VGA port?

Sorry if this is a silly question but it is driving me crazy! I even tried looking for a menu button on the monitor and couldn't find one ;(

    Thanks!

There is a saying 'The only silly question is the one that was not asked.' This may be an exception.

D-Sub = VGA. It's probably not seeing a valid signal. The monitor does have a menu button; look for the users manual online.

You should first verify that your monitor works in VGA mode with another computer (or your original computer). There is nothing to switch; it is auto-detect active signal.

It just maybe that USB> VGA thingy isn't working....
