The problem is referred to as the 'Two Seconds to black problem'. It has been discussed repeatedly in a number of threads. There are a number of possible causes, but the first step is always the same - open the monitor up. If any caps are bulging, replace them all. If anything is in doubt, post pictures of the boards.

Things don't look good for your monitor. Not only are the pictures useless (too low resolution and too dark), you apparently didn't read my request. I don't need a picture of the logic board; I need a picture of both the top and bottom sides of the power supply / inverter board.
Don't use photobucket. Attach them to your post. It doesn't have to be that hard. Do it this way.

Re: Belinea 19inch monitor
I appreciate the replies but i dont know a lot about this there are two boards in the monitor and i took pictures of them both although as i said before my camera is rubbish. Seems like too much hassle for me to correct the issue being a novice so i think ill have to either throw it out or send it to a professional, again thanks for the replies and i can only apologise for wasting your time.Comment

There's only one way to advance past the novice stage, and you won't find a better teacher than PB. He doesn't charge much either, unless you want to send him and his wife back to Hawaii for a few weeks!Comment

Re: Belinea 19inch monitor
Maybe I can help. I have a Belinea 19'' monitor too (1905s). The problem was (is) monitor working but with a pinkish hue on the screen then black after 4-5 sec. I placed an order for new CCFLs (very expensive in this country) and I am still waiting for them to arrive from the US.
I am attaching some pictures of the power supply + inverter unit (component side) and the following link for its diagram http://www.4shared.com/file/10988829...ECTRONICS.html
(I found these pictures on the web because mine don't look too good)
I'll keep you posted on how it goes

The management of the firm is overjoyed because it was fixed so easily. This attitude changed when he presented them with a bill for $10,000. They are outraged to be charged so much when all he did was hit it with a hammer. After the screaming dies down, the repairman prepares a new bill. $10.00 for hitting the equipment, $9,990.00 for knowing where and how hard to hit.
In this case, there are a number of possible causes for the problem. These include one or more bad CCFLs, bad wiring to the CCFLs, an inverter transformer with a shorted or open secondary, a bad solder joint in the inverter area, a bad component in the inverter monitoring circuitry, or a bad driver. It is possible to repair the problem by methodically replacing every possible component, but it is much easier to perform a few tests and identify if the problem lies in the inverter drive circuitry, in the CCFLS and their wiring, or in the monitoring circuitry.

by Rick_1234Good evening, gentlemen.
I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.
To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

by momakaNormally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow.
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

by wattageHello Badcaps Community,
I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.
The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...-
