    Optiquest Q19wb "No Signal"

I have an Optiquest Q19wb that seemed to be power cycling. It had a bad cap on the 1000uF. I replaced the board. I have no skill at soldering electronic components. I put it back together and now it just says "No Signal". I thought maybe I had the pink/blue wires in the wrong order, but from what I've read, that doesn't seem to matter. All the connections are tight. I don't know what to check next.

    Thanks.

You are testing this while connected to a working computer like your desktop correct? so there is a good signal going to the monitor, but the monitor does not see it.

Yes. Unplugged the cable from the computer I'm on and plugged into the monitor. No signal.

I've managed to make most of the common mistakes when testing a working monitor. One popular one is not seating the signal cable firmly into the back of the monitor. There are very tight quarters back there.

Otherwise, bad caps on the logic card, or even too high a resolution on the computer could cause this.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Requesting Help For GA-970A-DS3 rev. 1.0, No Post code, no RSMRST# signal
          by AstutePauciloquent
Hi everyone, over the past few months i have taken a deep dive into motherboard diagnostics and I love the challenge. Currently im trying to learn all about the signals that travel around the motherboard, such as frequencies, enable signals High and Low logic states etc. And i have been learning to read and using the Schematics for this board that i requested here on Badcaps forum, from a few months ago, this is such a great place for these.

I’ve been working on a GA-970A-DS3 (rev. 1.0) that does not post. This motherboard has been my main learning board. I would like share...

Vizio M65Q7-H1 Red Vertical Strips fixed by tape blocking LC1 signal to half of the panel
          by howardc64
          Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

          Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

          Good morning.

I have posted here before and have gotten AMAZING advise (thank you!). I'm back for more. This BCaps Sub Forum is so well attended I thought I would post here.

What is a normal composite signal range for a C64?
          by Scruit
          Hello all,

Working on my first C64 / Breadbin / 250407. Purchased as non-working. Getting black screen.

More detail below, but for those that want to get right to the question.... Here are a few waveforms comparing the Pin15 output on the VIC chip (luma/sync) to the pin 4 on the AV socket (composite signal).

          https://imgur.com/gallery/PpqcqPY

My question is: Is the composite waveform range of 0.1v-1v too low for a c64?

          More detail:

Symptoms are that that I get...

PS4 fat has inconsistent signal after HDMI replacement
          by supravit2000
          Hi, guys!

I am not a professional, all I can do is solder stuff on the boards, so I would really appreciate it if someone with knowledge shares his experience/thoughts on a problem I have with a PS4 console.

My friend gave me an original fat PS4, board model SAB-001, with WLOD, that has been previously opened. I changed the HDMI port, couple of pads on the board were ripped, which I connected to the corresponding caps/resistors? Just did so as in a shown diagram (one of the ground pads I ripped off and left it not connected). However, there was still no signal, so...
