    Acer_1914....Oh,BTW Greetings..

time we all met,...been studying almost all posts, and ..some items match

presumptive faults and have also studied the pics,...the REV on my board
    is: 1J,..board nu:433AAP30021..for the PWR/INV..

    2 items, if you please;

    1. identify U801 (wiped nu out)..and,

    2. my Monitor flashes grn LED,..as soon as plugged in..

have put bright lite near screen,..noticed that the screen flashed dimly,..
in btwn flashes,...almost as in oscillation,...caps appear normal....
and no overly suspicious overheating...am only now trying to identify
chips on board..and study function bfor repairing...(don't want to..
    ..make things worse)..

unable at this time to post pics...no cam set yet,...am using security vcr
to tape repair procedure...see why puff the magic smoke,...
camthru lighted magnifier,...monitored on screen....and taped

might be helpful to some 1 out there....

also notice dark spot at top of thermister (RT801 on board)..but saw
no posts on this,...any prob there?....

any points as to how to proceed?...TYVM..in advance..

If the caps appear normal, check the inverter driver transistors for shorts.

I agree. This can be a reference doc in the future and complete sentences (in fact, complete words...) would be appreciated.

        Twitter and their character limit.

If you can describe your ideas in 140 characters or less you don't have any ideas .
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

ALMOST correct. You just did! And very well.

              we try again,... : )...

OK...got the point...only abbriviate as my typing is lousy...

now, in reference to my previous post,...can anyone help to id the chip

listed as U801 on the solder side of the pwr/inverter board for an Acer AL1914?

and, it's clear that the fault description was less than adequate,...so

once the Monitor is plugged in,..the green power lamp flashes,..but I have noticed when I shine a bright light on the screen,...there is a dim flash
of the screen,..which seems to oscillate in this fashion:

power led flash,..screen flash (very dimly) about 1hz/sec..

also,..would like to know if the thermister (RT801 on the same board),..
which has a dark spot at the top could be part of problem?

as I've said,..caps appear normal and no obvious overheating..

hoping this is a bit clearer than my last post, and again all feedback
              is appreciated...thanks again in advance

Pics would help you a lot. The bigger, the better

hello again,...please be patient with me, as uploading pics is new to me

I have included a sample pic showing Thermister RT-801 (hopefully)

this, along with my previous posting should give a fair idea of what

I and apparently others here are dealing with..

any criticism regarding pic welcome, as well as any hints

                    spinning as par for course
