    Dell Monitor E177FPb Horizontal Lines

After repairing three monitors for friends, and one of my own, the neighborhood has anointed me as the monitor repair guy, thanks to my secret weapon..... this site and everyone who has helped me. I don't do this for a living, but I have had some success until now!

The Dell monitor E177FPb, that I have now, is giving me fits because I can't find an obvious solution for the horizontal lines that are showing up across the screen. I have checked for bad caps, cold solder joints, but I haven't started to test components on the board yet.

I have included a photo of the problem on the screen. I have also included pictures of the front and back of both boards that are attached together. If someone has encountered this problem with a Dell monitor, please let me know where I should start to get rid of these lines. As always, thanks in advance for any help that you might be able to supply.

Either bad main video board (bad solder joint or bad component), LCD daughter board, or a problem with the bonded ribbon cable from the actual LCD panel to the daughter board.

The video board can be swapped and tried out if found if one of the other two is the problem a new panel would be needed and the display is toast.

The only other thing is to check the secondary caps the main board may do all kinds of weird things if the ripple is up from bad caps.

Looks like a problem with a video card. I had similar problem with my old
ATI Radeon X800XL pci-e 256Mb video card. Could also be problem with onboard video for the motherboard.

Usually video card problems manifest themselves as lines on the bootup screen.

These issues usually arise from either damaged or overheated video memory.

Besides if he got this from his neighbor with these symptoms and the lines are appearing on his test computer the odds of a bad video card on both comps is rare.

If you can't find bad joints on the main video board or LCD panel daughterboard the panel is junked. Many times lines on the screen arise from a bad joint or IC failure on the daughterboard which is under a metal cover on the rear of the panel.

Seeking Advice: Repairing Dell U3425WE Monitor with Faulty USB-C/Thunderbolt Ports
                by Borse2008
                Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice or opinions on what to do with a monitor issue I’ve run into. Apologies in advance is this crossovers a few forum categories.

I have a Dell U3425WE, which I've recently replaced with another model. That said, the original unit is still fully functional in terms of the display — it works perfectly over HDMI and DisplayPort. However, the USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports have stopped functioning correctly. The Issue:
                • The 90W Thunderbolt 4 port (circled in the photo) no longer charges or powers any device, including laptops or MacBooks.
                • There’s

Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34" - Horizontal lines
                by Kikerumbo
                Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have a Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34". A few weeks ago it started to show (or not showing) horizontal lines. Of course, it's outside of the warranty period.

After some hours of reading and watching videos I disassembled the monitor and checked the ribbons that go from the TCON board to the panel PCB. If I disconnect the ribbon for the right side of the panel, the other half shows a perfect image. I ordered a "new" TCON, installed it and the issue persists so that tells me it must...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
                by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
