    ASUS VH222D lines, terrible "picture"?

    Hi guys.

I got a monitor that I would have to repair for my friend.

It is kinda hard to explain what I am experiencing.

The monitor tries to show a picture, but instead it's just a bunch of lines and washed out thingies.

On the attached picture you can see it in full form. The monitor tries to show us the Windows 10 background (blue parts) with a right click menu opened (white part). The black part on the bottom is the start menu tray.

What would you say, does it seem fixable to you, or should I just scrap it?

Open it and post some pictures of the main board and t-con board(s).

An issue like that could be a bad cap, bad voltage regulator, or it could also be failed panel. That last item generally isn't fixable, but the other two usually are. If we see the insides of the monitor, we may get better clues, though.

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
      by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

      Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

I have here a Asus 32' curved display showing these lines.

A short clip of what shows when I turn it on.

Here are some pictures of the boards. Visualy they seem fine.

There are lots of videos on Youtube on possible solutions, but I could not find a similar problem with a similar board layout.
      Any help is appreciated.
      Thanx....

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
      by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Philips 243v5lhsb00 Monitor Picture too bright
      by Schwoin
      Hey everyone,

the picture on my philips monitor looks way too bright so that black appears grey and colors also seem too bright.

While i tried to tilt the screen a little bit while it was displaying a picture, i´ve noticed, that there appeared some purple pixels. In the following picture
you can see them on the top half of the photo.

At a certain point during the tilting, the picture looked normal again but as soon as i laid it back down, the purple pixels were gone and the picture was bright again.

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
      by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...
