    Westinghouse LCM-22w3

I received a broken 22" Westinghouse monitor that doesn't power on and I want to fix it. I'm pretty sure that the only thing wrong with it is the blown capxon capacitors and I want to replace them. Can somebody set me up with a shopping cart of all of the following capacitors from a good website, I would do it myself but I have very slow dial up and I don't know anything about caps and its confusing as hell trying to shop for them.

    capxon 2200uf10v p718 kf105c
    (2) capxon 1000uf25v p717 vent kf105c
    (3) capxon 220uf25v kf105c p716 vent
    capxon 330uf25v p716 vent kf105c
    capxon 1000uf10v vent p719 kf105c

    thanks

They are all Capxon KF series which are best replaced by Panasonic FM [or better].

    You didn't list your location.
If you are in the US then Digikey is the place to go for Panny FM.

Need to know the largest diameter and max length that will fit without clearance issues before I throw you a list.

        Re: Westinghouse LCM-22w3

I basically meant for you to tell me what to old ones are but sometimes the 'spot' will allow a bigger one.
For example often the board is silk screened for a 10mm but they used an 8mm.
Old cap is 8mm but a 10mm would fit so either an 8 or 10mm would work.

        Normal diameters are 4,5,6,6.3,8,10,12.5,13-up mm.

Length can be anything but there might be a height limit as to what will fit in your gear. Happens a lot in screens when they use sheet metal panels to sheild EMI.
I can't see it so you need to look-see if height matters.

Okay I'm back, I got sidetracked for a while.

          capxon 2200uf10v p718 kf105c (13 mm diameter, 21 mm tall)
          (Qty 2) capxon 1000uf25v p717 vent kf105c (10 mm diameter, 21 mm tall)
          (Qty 3) capxon 220uf25v kf105c p716 vent (12 mm tall 8 mm dia)
          capxon 330uf25v p716 vent kf105c (8 mm diameter, 16 mm tall)
          capxon 1000uf10v vent p719 kf105c (10 mm diameter, 16 mm tall)

These are the caps that I need to replace, they dont have to be capxon, I would prefer better quality brand. Thanks

Some of those are kind'a pushing it on the Ripple and FM is cheaper.
I usually just use Panny FM or Ruby MBZ to replace KF.

                Capxon KF 2200uf 10v 13mm - Ripple / ESR = 1750 / 0.041
                ELXZ100ELL222MK20S LXZ - Ripple / ESR = 1660 / 0.038
LXZ 10v is a downgrade for Ripple.
LXZ 16v is upgrade but cost more [$1.05/@]
                LXZ 2200uF 16v 12.5x25mm - Ripple / ESR = 1950 / 0.030
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...me=565-1937-ND
FM 16v is upgrade and same price [$0.95/@]
                FM 2200uF 16v 12.5x25mm - Ripple / ESR = 3190 / 0.015
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...name=P12369-ND

Capxon KF 1000uf 25v in 10mm - Does not exist in 10mm on data sheet
                Capxon KF 1000uf 25v 13mm diameter - Ripple / ESR = 1660 / 0.045
                Nearest KF 10x20mm - Ripple / ESR = 1320 / 0.062
                ELXZ250ELL102MK20S LXZ - Ripple / ESR = 1660 / 0.038
                LXZ is okay here.
                FM is upgrade and cheaper [$0.76/@] - Ripple / ESR = 555 / 0.120
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...name=P12379-ND

                Capxon KF 220uf 25v 8 mm - Ripple / ESR = 550 / 0.150
                ELXZ250ELL221MH12D LXZ - Ripple / ESR = 555 / 0.120
                LXZ is good here.
                FM is upgrade and cheaper [$0.32/@] - Ripple / ESR = 950 / 0.056
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...name=P12383-ND

Capxon KF 330uf 25v 8mm - Does not exist in 8mm on data sheet
                Capxon KF 330uf 25v 10mm - Ripple / ESR = 820 / 0.114
                Nearest KF 8x12.5mm [no 8x16 there either] - Ripple / ESR = 550 / 0.150
                ELXY250ELL331MJ16S LXY - Ripple / ESR = 740 / 0.095
                - If the KF is 10mm then LXY is a downgrade for ripple.
                FM is upgrade and cheaper
                FM 8mm [35v] - Ripple / ESR = 1560 / 0.030 - $0.43/@
                http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...name=P12414-ND
                FM 10mm [25v] - Ripple / ESR = 1290 / 0.038 - $0.37/@

                ELXZ100ELL102MJ16S LXZ - Ripple / ESR = 1050 / 0.068
                LXZ is good here.
                FM [8x20mm] is upgrade and cheaper [$0.50/@] - Ripple / ESR = 1560 / 0.030

                      CONGRATS!
                      - Fun isn't it!

You should fine as long as caps failed over quality issues vice being properly rated for the application.
Those you got that are rated less than the original aren't much less and if the unit was properly design spec'ed** there should be some 'wiggle room' in the needed ripple capacity in the circuit.
Worst case is it won't last as long as it might have using caps with higher ripple ratings.

                      ** Works like this:
The engineer works out the circuit and decides the ripple needs to be 'at least' 'this' much.
Then they find a cap that that handles 'at least' that much, which will usually be rated better than the minimum requirement.
                      - But: we can't know 'how much' more, so it's best to match [or improve on] the ratings of the original caps.

You caps probably didn't fail because their ratings[specs] are wrong for the circuit.
They probably failed because Capxon makes low quality parts.
                      .
