    Acer S277HK horizontal flickering lines

    Hi,

I have Acer S277HK 4k 27" display, and the problem is it has flickering horizontal lines. Display panel is M270QAN01.1

I disassembled monitor and checked every connection and looked for obivious marks of failure. It seems like earlier owner have replaced power unit caps at some point, I will replace those when I get new caps, but they seemed okay.

Horizontal lines are more clearly visible at top of display.

Here is photo of mainboard from internet, I can take better photo myself tomorrow

Does anyone have any ideas what to check first and where to start? What could cause this?

    Here is video for reference

I have the same issue with the same screen. Were you able to fix the problem? Did you fix the caps? I am hesitant to order a new main board if that isn't the issue.

Hoping to keep this tread alive exact same issue.
Got this screen from an exchange student going home, and hoping to fix and use it.

Hope to hear from anyone who has found the cause of the issue

I dont know if this is a solve per se.
I hooked up another power adapter I had lying around and left it there.

I kept using the monitor even though it looked like shit.

After 1-3 weeks (honestly dont remember), it went to full brightness and stopped the shimmering.

I have no idea how this voodoo bs works, but I am just leaving my monitor alone for now and being happy taht it works.

Did the clean power from my blessed adapter just flush out the toxin buildup from the previous bad connector, and now the monitor is healed? best explanation so far.

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
              by reessi
              Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
              by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
              • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
              • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Samsung UE70TU7100 - flickering horizontal lines
              by mrsith
              Hello again good souls.

Got an UE70TU7100. The TV starts up just fine, but right hand side of the screen is horizontal striped a bit, and there are some flickering horizontal lines on the whole length of the screen. I've seen similar static horizontal lines sometimes, when applying the cut tape method and covering wrong number of pins.

I've cleaned every connector with ipa, tried cut tape method on main LVDS ribbon as well as small ribbons, connecting the panel boards at the bottom. Tried squeezing the bezel and playing around COFs, but no reaction at all. COFs and...

Dell U3419W horizontal lines and flickering
              by Guybrush
After watching too many electronics repair videos (but not monitors) I came across a dell monitor with flickering horizontal lines. I haven't purchased it yet so don't have much info, but from the video and pic do you think there is a chance of repair or is just simple panel damage?

Seller claims; "but due to sun damage has some grey lines going through it"
