Hello,
Whats is thePart number for U101 on your board. Mine is damaged and I cannot see the part No.

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Duh - should have said set meter to 2000 ohms.
Yes you can use diode mode as well - either way you should have 6 results (included the
check that the ~AC ~ is not shorted.
When you replaced the TOPswitch did you replace like for like (metal/plastic tab?) with any insulation sleeves/washers if there were any?.
Other places to test - Big Cap - Care High voltage - meter on 600 vDC - will doublecheck the bridge is working.
Another test for shorts on the inverter mosfets is shown here:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...1&postcount=23
No power to the board for that testLeave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
bridge rectifier tested with dmm in 200Ω range:
poss lead to +, neg lead to ~ = open
.neg lead to ~, poss lead to + = open
poss lead to -, neg lead to ~ = open
.neg lead to ~, poss lead to - = open
Testing the bridge rectifier with dmm in diode mode:
poss lead to +, neg lead to ~ = open
.neg lead to -, poss lead to ~ = 575
.neg lead to -, poss lead to ~ = open
poss lead to -, neg lead to ~ = 575
Ive cleaned board with brush and taken a couple more clearer picsLast edited by liteace; 12-25-2014, 05:58 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
I think buds post says somewhere we need both sides of the board. Anyway the bridge rectifier doesnt look good but it may just be the picture - looks to have heat marks and perhaps a small split? -
With no power to the board locate the 4 joints and meter on ohms 200 test 1 to2 then again with leads reversed then 3 to 4 then again with leads reversed and post result in ohms
When you remove the TOP chip test the solder joints for straight shorts.
Also look up "Dim Bulb Test" for future damage limitationLast edited by selldoor; 12-24-2014, 02:56 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
I'm sorry to bump this topic, but this is the only board that has a topic about the Samsung 913N Monitor.
Background story:
About a year ago i started getting a "not in optimum mode" when starting a game or booting windows, so pulling the plug for about five minutes helped for a while, but i bought a new monitor.
Where are we now:
Well, the monitor worked with the pull the plug trick for a little while on an old pc, but now that won't even work, it even won't display any image, not even the "not in optimum mode" message, when i hold the menu button it just says "testing okay" and the the screen goes back to black(back-light also shutdown)..
So i searched the forums and i came here, i opened the monitor so i could take a look at the caps, but they look fine from the outside(no bulding top,no leaks..)
But to be sure i made pics of the circuit board and the logic, videoboard:Leave a comment:

When it gets to the point of needing to replace a fried processor, I'd be putting that monitor into the parts heap.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Hello Again!
I managed to replace NT68F63LG to NT68F63L. I realized that it's NT68F63LG and I ordered NT68F63L from eBay (that link which gonzo gave). I do have SyncMaster 913N and you saw the images from the logic board. So is there any differents between NT68F63LG and NT68F63L?
I'm asking this because after replacing IC, monitor doesn't work 100%. It does display an image, but its kinda screwed up. Colors aren't right, red is too strong, and it can't be fixed by configuring the color tune from the OSD. There is also gray transparent block on the left side, its about 20-30px wide and height 100%.
What could do all this? Wrong IC? Bad soldering? Or something got damaged while replacing IC?
Well, at least i made progress on this project and I'm happy for it.
Thanks in advance! If you want new images, just ask!Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Sounds great!
First i'll ask a friend does he have that adapter and does he know how that works, etc.
If i have to buy one of those ICs, do i have to do anything else than soldering it to logic board? Or do i have to flash it also?
I won't give up easily.
And gonzo0815, Thank you very much for your time!
I'll ask if i just need more help (so I'll be here again very soon.)
Thanks.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Well, if you could get some NT68F63L i think you can try it.
I am not sure, if you need to flash the firmware. If you want to save your current firmware, you need a simple adapter VGA > LPT port and the flash tool from the NT68F63L`s manufacturer (Easy Writer").
NT68F63L could be bought from here:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Okey...
So that is the controller. Great.
Flash it via COM port - sounds easy, but is it?
Do i need something very special stuff? Or is it just too much/hard for people like me...?
Thanks.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
The NT68F63L is the one with the sticker. The label indicates the firmware revision, which may be specific for the device / panel.
The NT68F63L has it`s own EEPROM. You can flash it via COM port.
I do not know the cause of your particular problem, but what i do know is that there are a bunch of Syncmasters out there with failing NT68F63L.
Usually the obvious symptom is the "out of range" error, but may be there are other symptoms.Leave a comment:

Re: Smasung SyncMaster 913N Monitor wouldnot display images
Hello.
I'm kinda uncertain about NT68F63L controller. Monitor isn't displaying images but everything else works fine. By pressing menu it says 'Test Good' and when VGA cable is unplugged monitor notices that.
When i turn on laptop and monitor is plugged, green led light stays on. I think it is some kind sign that monitor is working correctly but for some reason it doesn't display image.
I didn't find NT68F63L controller from my logic board, might be with different name/code? So, with this info, can you say that my problem is also the dead NT68F63L controller? And only way to fix is by replacing controller with new NT68F63L controller?

Thank you very much for your time!
And, yah... I'm a newfaq around (somewhere) here. :/Leave a comment:

by wattageHello Badcaps Community,
I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.
The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...-

by Rick_1234Good evening, gentlemen.
I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.
To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

by momakaNormally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow.
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
