I have a Optiquest Q7 lcd monitor that is fine when it turns on but when it picks up the signal from the computer it shows green. So when I first turn on the screen it shows "signal cable disconnect" fine but when i plug in the vga cord it will display the screen with a greenish tint. I have tried a different working vga cord, I have tried a different computer. I am not sure what the problem is. Sorry for the not too decent photos the screen is completely green not just half of it like shown in the picture.

Re: Display is exhibiting a green screen
Unfortunately, monitors are not my forte.
I had a similar issue not very long ago on a CRT monitor. What happened was I accidentally bent a pin in the VGA cable.
I know that you have tried the monitor with another VGA cable, however it can't hurt to have a look.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable will come long and help you some more.Comment

Re: Display is exhibiting a green screen
Ok. So I used a good monitor that is the same make and model and replaced the video board on the defective one with the board from the new one and it works fine. Then I put the defective one in the good monitor and it displays green. Remind you I did swap vga cables so they are good. Therefore i narrowed it down to just the video board. If any one can help me I would appreciate it. Also what is the little silver looking box shown in the pictures. Thank you. It says on it 24.000H7C.Comment

Re: Display is exhibiting a green screen
That's a quartz crystal. Resonates with a intergated circuitry internal to that microcontroller to get 24MHz which is divided down to different clocks and some of them outputs these to other chipsets.
Not same thing as quartz crystal OSCILLATOR. This has internal circuit and a crystal in a 4 pin package.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by jimjoe123I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.
Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.
Then each time... -
by kokosHi ! to all fellows out there!

I have tried reseating all ribons, Checked PSU 24V,12V,3v ,etc voltages.
The TV opens on the first Green noise screen and it freezes there -no respone of menu keys ,etc -only on/off via Remote. (I also noticed carefully that except from green noise screen there is a ghost image at bottom and left vertical side)
I tried connected the lan and I can seee TV via local lan (as a device I...6 Photos - Loading...
