Has anyone worked on one of these? All caps test good in/out of cct. PSU is working normally. All it does is flash the blue power LED. No specific pattern. I am thinking the upro is bad on the video board. (Runs warmer than normal, but not smoking hot). There is no splash screen, or OSD whatsoever. There is no difference if the VGA cable is connected or not.The inverter is functional when 5 Volts is applied to the "turn on" line. Help? Anyone?

2. A common symptom of a shorted inverter driver transistor is a flashing power LED.
3. In some cases bad capacitors will cause a flashing power LED.

Re: Lg W2234s
1. A flashing power LED can also be caused by a corrupted EEPROM on the signal card. Some monitors can be reset by holding down a combination of switches when turning on the monitor.

One of the traces on the flat ribbon cable going to the LCD panel had come loose from the ribbon, although I did not test to know exactly what was happening, I suspect it was 5V line finding a ground.
Anyway if the blinking PLED stops when the cable to the panel is disconnected from the logic board, and you gain control of the front PLED it gives an area to look atWhatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!Comment

by BriesmithI am trying to repair a Yamaha DXR10 powered amplifier but finding it difficult because I have a smoking resistor which starts to burn as soon as I switch power on. (So I have it turn it off straight away.) The fuses don't blow and I connect a dim bulb which goes dim so no straight short to find. I have attached a marked up circuit diagram and I am looking for help in identifying the best place to look for what's causing the excessive power draw. Needless to say the amp isn't working. The mosfet circled in red was the start of my problem when it exploded. I replaced it and the resistor network...

got a pny gf4 ti 4200 card off junkbay. it had some junk caps on it but they looked fine.
when i got it, i noticed they were canicon junk caps. eight of them on the top of the pcb. i first tried testing it in ubuntu. it worked fine on the 2d desktop. but when i tried running glxgears, it would constantly freeze.
so i had to boot windows to test it. when testing it in benchmarks, i noticed sometimes there would be some specific textures that were either garbled or corrupted. rather odd. upon further testing, i noted that the corruption occurs in a video memory overflow... -
by tibimakaiI have picked this up from the bay, with a blown center channel.
Easy fix, right?
I have found all the parts, that are needed to be replaced.
All done, I have tested the mainboard twice and the pre-amp board twice.
All is good. I have started measuring the idle current and it was going up slowly(which is good). Around 5mV, suddenly it was dropping toward 0, and it reached 0.
I have took everything apart, and measured everything again. I did not find, anything wrong. I put it back together and this time, the idle current started going up way to fast to my liking and...-

by EvilMaxIs there anyone who can help me or guide me with this Motherboard repair...?
I have squeezed out all of my brain capabilities, unfortunately i think i have no enough knowledge for this, but i want to learn...
Ok, i will explain what is it and how it is, and if someone can help, i will gladly buy this membership because i have no other place to learn this...
I didn't find schematic or boardview so i need to work in "dark"...

This laptop had a hard fall I was told. I'm not able to read the serial number.
I would get 3 white lights at the power button when plugged in and then off, but still an orange charge light(most of the time).
PLC501 gets hot, into the 60s C. It has 1.24v PRC307 is the next hot thing around 40c and PUC301 get's a bit warmer than the other 4 PUs next to it
PLC301 has resistance to ground of .55ohms but i'm not experienced enough to know if this is normal for such gpus? Voltage on these coils is .75v
Otherwise i wasn't able to find anything else getting warm even when injecting...-
