    4 CCFLs to 2 connectors

Can someone help me with some advice please. I have an old PC monitor that was going to be thrown out because there is some screen damage, the panel is a Samsung LTM230HT03, anyway I have a spare panel which is a Samsung LTM230HT01, the only difference is that the 03 version has 2 CCFL connectors and the 01 has 4 CCFL connectors. I thought I would get away with putting 2 of the CCFL lamps in parallel so that I could use all 4 lamps on the 2 connectors on the inverter (2 to each connector), it doesn't work though, I get the 2 seconds to black, I also tried in series, and get the same result. If I connect 2 of the CCFLs everything works fine, and any 2 will work together, however as soon as I connect a third then I'm back to the 2 seconds to black again. Checked all caps and everything is fine, is there any way to modify the circuit so I can use all 4 CCFLs?

A picture of both sides of the power supply / inverter board is below.

maybe one of the panels only has 2 ccfl's
if it's damaged why not remove the lamps as spares.

The boards have circuit which measure the current consumption - if the current is too much , the circuit shuts down.
As cffl tubes age, their current consumption goes up. However, those transformers on the circuit board can only output up to a certain amount of current (the value its designed for plus some margin like 20-40%, to account for aging and different kinds of cffl tubes).
To prevent damage to those high voltage transformers, the board measures the current going to the cffl tubes and kills the circuit if the current is way higher than what the circuit is designed for.

ps. also keep in mind that the monitor may have 4 cffl tubes but as two pairs of cffl tubes, with two cffl tubes in series instead of being independent. This means same current but much higher startup voltages (1500v+ dc to start them)

Yes the original panel had 2 CCFLs, but they were both broken, the panel suffered impact damage and that's why it was being disposed of. The new panel has 4 tubes, but they are only half the size or the originals, I thought the inverter might have enough to power them but maybe not.

The panel is working and is backlit, I guess it's half as bright as it should be though (although it seems fine to me).

Yes that makes sense and explains why any 2 will work but 3 or more won't.

Is there any way to put another inverter in circuit and run the Tubes as 2 sets of 2, ie buying another inverter and getting a supply from the existing PSU?

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

LG Flatron L1953TR : CCFL connectors confusion ( forgot to take a photo before disassembling )
              by Ancient1
I forgot to take a photo and now I am not sure how to reconnect
As you can see , I have 2 pairs , each pair has 2 colored wires : the black_ish connector and blue_ish connector
There must be a convention to help decide , I assume

              How do I reassemble ?

              Thanks

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
              by mikey5791
              Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

              Sony KDL-46BX450 Inverter Troubleshoot Logic
              by caseyjay_48
I am currently on a troubleshoot of 46” Sony KDL-46BX450 tv. I came back from Washington to Texas on medical emergency and had to leave all my tools up there. All I have is a couple of screwdrivers and a dvm. I wish to ask the community a troubleshooting question. Please forgive stupid questions as meds I am taking produce brain fog.
I have well maintained Sony KDL-46BX450. It went black one day. After turn-on, I get solid green light and Sony logo in screen center for about 1-2 seconds, then black. No blinking LEDs, no hissing. Flashlight test shows screen characters dimly viewable,...

Crimping CAT7 connectors high failure rates
              by CapLeaker
I’ve had and got a few projects using quality CAT6 and CAT7 23awg solid copper, shielded, direct burial cable. Each time I use CAT7 connectors, most of them fail making good connections to the 4 wire pairs after crimping. I tied a couple of crimping tools, thinking my crimper is bad. Also used different CAT7 RJ45 connector manufacturers. Same thing. I kinda calculate 6 connectors to make one cable!
Get this: I use CAT5 or CAT6 connectors, no problem. Very rare I have a miss crimp with those. So what gives?! ...
