hannspree hsg1064: looking for replacement parts, and couple questions

    Hello!

I'm brand new here. Great site.

So, someone was throwing out a much nicer monitor than the one I'm using, a hannspree hsg1064. He didn't know what was wrong, so I plugged in and found that the screen appeared normally for about 5 seconds, then went black. Searching for this symptom lead me here, and to your very helpful FAQ on the subject.

I don't have a multimeter (yet) so I figured I'd check the lamps. See the pictures below and you can see what I found

Anyway, I've never done this kind of thing before (only thing I've ever done with a monitor is plug one in). As you can see in the pictures, there's a bunch of oxidation on the frame, and some sort of white stuff around the breakage. What is that stuff?

Does having broken CCFLs cause any other problems that I should look into before replacing the broken lamps?

Is there a place that you guys recommend for buying CCFLs? I didn't find anyone selling specifically for my monitor model, are all 25" CCFLs alike?

I assume that the connectors that attach the CCFLs are specific to the board, so what comes with the lamps? Like lengths of wire or something, or do I need to solder onto contacts on the lamps themselves? Seems sketchy getting that much heat near the tubes... If I do need to do that, what sort of wire should I use?

Lastly, is there anything I should know as a first-timer replacing these things?

Thanks for bearing with my beginner's questions, and thanks a ton for reading. I appreciate it!

    hi
if u can not find CCFLS you can replace ccfls with LED rule .also u can feed led's by a dc adapter.for changing with led rule u need disable protection .

For replacement CCFLs, any of the same size will do, they are standardized. The lamps come with bare ends - you reuse the wires that are already in the monitor.

You are to put some small heatshrink on the wires and slide it down. Solder the wires to the new lamp. Drag heatshrink over solder connection and shrink it using hot air, your soldering iron or any other heat source. Re-assemble panel.

Edit: In most monitor and laptop panels you can replace the CCFLs without opening the screen up entirely. You can cut the frame at the corners where the lamps are and just pull the lamps out. This method is recommended whenever you can use it as it reduces chances that dust will get into the screen.

Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01 Schematic and Parts List
          by Mark D
The TV is a Samsung UN65JU67ODFXZA Version TD01. I replaced the power source board and the TV is now working, but I decided to try and troubleshoot the old board to fix at the component level. Trying to get a schematic and a parts list has proven to be an issue. Trying on my own, I can't tell you how many times my Norton security has flagged sites as "malicious". I ordered a service manual from ServiceManuals.net, paid $16.99 and got 66 pages of everything BUT schematics and component parts list! Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Some of the surface mounted component parts...

          SVOD4 PCB pictures + parts
          by 2elw
Hey, I find it very absurd that the SVOD4 costs so much and has zero documentation. I had no other choice than to buy it to unlock ECs, if there was any documentation or firmware avalible I could've made it or something simmilar. Anyways here are some of the most important parts:

STM32H723VGT6 MCU - It's a microcontroller by STMicroelectronics and its the whole brain of the SVOD4. It has flash memory for the firmware which can be updated by the SVOD4 program. Its also powered by the AMS117 which converts 5v into 3.3V. 7€ on AliExpress.

          GW1N-UV9UG169C6/I5 FPGA - Its a...

Lenovo Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB - Power disabled within 2 seconds after plugging the charger
          by Mita99
          Hi,

Try to repair a Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB with I7-8850H processor and N18E-Q1-KB-A1 (P3200) GPU with 6GB memory. Unfortunately there is noinfo what happened to the laptop. I got it disassembled with parts missing, like keyboard, battery.

Unfortunately I have no schematic available for me (requested in the sub porum) but got the boardview file.

Symptom: after connecting to the charger the power led light up for one-two second and switch off. After a couple secons the power led light up for half a second and switch off. No battery, no IO board, no...

What parts can be salvaged from a plasma with a damaged display panel?
          by SurrealMustard
I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad...

Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming - Parts Identification
          by DynaxSC
          Hi,

I have an Asus Rog Strix B360-I Gaming with missing parts. I know there is a resistor missing for sure, but nearby it seems there might have been also a transistor or mosfet. Below the picture of the area on the board with the missing parts. The interesting area is inside the rectangle.

I'd appeciate if somebody could make a detailled picture of this area from a working board and post it here. Getting the parts values would also be helpful. The revision of the board is 1.02 .

          Thanks in advance...
