Monitor - shuts off after half a second

    Hello everyone,

joined this forum specifically for this question.

I have a monitor and decided to fix it on my own. It wouldn't have been to expensive to take it to a shop but I want to learn, so this is one of the tasks.

As the title says, it turns itself off after half a second.

I have replaced some bulged capacitors and it behaves similarly.
Desoldered a couple of transistors and they seem fine. All changes/tries are marked with blue.

Can you guide me step by step what should I do next?

Also, was looking at the capacitor marked with yellow and already bought a replacement. How do I check if it's working fine?

    Thank you very much!

Forgot to mention that it's a Benq monitor. And when it turns off, the on/off light turns itself off as well.

Also, I can here a slight buzz in the lower center part of the board.

Have very similar issue, check https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ght=benq+turns

Buzzing here also, but I'm positive that can be ignored for now.

        Thank you.

I found a couple of 11P06 that seem to be faulty. So will need to replace those before anything else.

You need to check Q805, Q812, resolder all the transformator pins (all 5), the components mounted on radiators, then C830-C836.
          I would add C824-C827, too.

Do you happen to have the schematics of this one?

Google out your model. If you find out service manual, that can be really helpful for us beginners

This is what I was looking for. Now I can identify which line is not giving enough voltage.

I wonder what would happen if I connect the black to 3V and red to 12V, would there be a short?
