    BenQ GW2450

I don't need help. Or at least I don't think I do. I was going to ask a question about whether NTE caps are 'good enough' for monitors, but I finally found my answer on these forums in the hour it took my account to let me post. *sigh* Anyway, since I have a week to wait while capacitors get shipped to me (all the local stores carry NTE only), and because *nobody* had a cap guide for my monitor, here is one.

    Current caps:

    Pwr converter board:
    --DC section--
    Mfr: Lelon 16v, 680uF, quant: 2, 10mm x 13mm -- Positions C708, C707
    Mfr: FDAI 50v, 47uF, quant: 1, 6mm x 11mm, C712
    Mfr: Elite 25v, 220uF, quant: 1, 8mm x 12mm, C709
    Mfr: Lelon 35v, 330uF, quant: 2, 10mm x 15mm, C703, C801
    Mfr: Elite 100v, 22 uF, quant: 2, 7mm x 12mm, C852, C851
    --AC section--
    Mfr: Elite 480v, 100uF, quant: 1, 42mm x 22mm, C605
    Mfr: FDAL 50v, 22uF, quant: 1, 5mm x 11mm, C610

I admit I'm not entirely sure if FDAI is, in fact, FDAL. I get more google hits about capacitors with FDAI though.

    LCD board:
Mfr: FDAI 25v 22uF, quant: 2, 5mm x 10mm, behind VGA connector @ back of board, right of ribbon cable. Both holes.
    Mfr: Aishi 25v 47uF, quant: 5, 5mm x 10mm, all other cap locations

I measured all the caps myself. That said, my tape struggled with cap height, so if I have down 11mm and you see 10.5 or 12 listed in a guide, assume the guide is correct.

edit: Oh, and if you were wondering. Mfr: Lelon 16v, 680uF, quant: 2, 10mm x 13mm -- Positions C708, C707 were the caps that failed me.

NTE dont make caps - or anything else.
so it could be any crap they can get cheap.

I have a new NTE cap here in my hands...I think the vent looks like a ... TEAPO.

But yeah it's unfortunate that NTE tends to be readily available. I think most electronics shops that sells replacement semiconductors will sell NTE, and well, the caps come along for the ride.

Oddly enough I was looking at some of the rat shak parts and though they were all 85C caps, some were actually Nichicons, Rubycons, etc. but yeah still is the luck of the draw, and not to mention they are probably all NOS and not fresh, modern capacitors.
