Dell 3008wfp - messed up grey screen, only backlight

    Good Day All,

    This is where I'm at...

My much loved Dell 3008wfp turned on me and went funny as you can see above.

    1) We replaced the usual diodes, no difference
    2) replaced the whole power board, no difference
    3) checked all internal connections and resoldered one point (circled in pic)

kinda at a loss here - any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Problem could be on the main board, the t-con board, or the LCD panel itself (bad tab-bonds).

First check all regulator output voltage on the main board. That would be anything with a "1117" and "1084" written on it. I see quite a few.

Post some pictures of the t-con board as well (this is the board that is *usually* attached to the LCD panel on the top side).

Which diodes would that be? And which board?

Again, which board and which picture would that be on?

Good Day and Much thanks for the feedback.

We replaced the D22 diode as per
      http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18460501

That did not work, so we replaced the full Power Supply board from one off ebay (China, remanufactured, from a respected buyer)

If you check the dropbox link (bigger pix)
      https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4zylqksun...H_G1BMz6a?dl=0

The Last picture (IMGL5911) shows the one solder point we redid

Again huge huge thanks for the reply - I liked the monitor a lot and would rather try a couple hours of repairs before giving in.

When it went, it was all of a sudden. There were no glitches leading up to the failure.

Looks to me like the Lcd panel has failed IMO seen plenty of Tv's with symptoms issues and the Lcd drivers had failed.
