Philips 107S61 (CRT) power supply problem

    Hello,

here I have an Philips CRT monitor and when turn in power ,relay in power supply starts clicking. Section around flyback transformer doesn't have voltage on tranzistors. What could be problem and how to find it?
Capacitors all look fine and on primary side is voltage fine.
    thanks for help!

    get a service manual.
you need to isolate the B+ line from the line-output transformer or remove the line output transistor.

then you can power up the psu to test without having the 16-20Kv supply running.
    B+ should be between 70 and 140v.

if the line output transistor or transformer shorts you will see the psu section pulsing with a ticking sound.

I removed the line output transistor but the problem is still there, i think that is not worth of time to repair!

Re: Philips 107S61 (CRT) power supply problem

Does the relay click in a consistent pattern or randomly? If it's consistent, the PSU may be power cycling. Check for shorted parts in the PSU. If it's random, could be bad solder joints.

Before anything give it a good clean.

Yes relay click in a consistent pattern

Then I'd treat it as a power cycling problem, unless someone else can suggest otherwise.

Look for shorted rectifier diodes in the PSU secondary, Bad electrolytic capacitors in the PSU control section (and\or outputs), something wrong in the feedback circuit possibly.

And yeah, clean off the dust...

Modification to a ZD-987 desoldering/soldering station using a external switching power supply
                by sam_sam_sam
I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Definitive technology SC 2000 subwoofer amp's power supply clicking and popping
                by JimBanville
The sub developed a constant popping every couple seconds from woofer and power LED flickering with nothing but wall AC connected. Connecting an audio cable didn't change anything. It doesn't play but a second or two of audio in between the pops.
Opened it up and discovered the power supply is making a faint clicking or ticking sound.
I measured the amp's output to the woofer and it pulses up to 50mv DC to be driver. The pulses coincide with the power supply ticking/clicking.
I measured the power supply output going to the amp board and it too has this pulsing. Voltage cycles...

                Philips 50PUS8555/12 Power supply fault

                Hi,

                715ga018-p01-006-003s
Am trying to find a pdf .

i have no secondary output voltage. So far done the obvious checked supply on primary caps 320v, supply on power supply ic found 22v and cannot see any burnt components.
tried with meter most components like resistors diodes etc.
in secondary there are no shorts either.
This was struck by a lightning and could see a burn under the air gap capacitor.

                Attaching the board.
                Any clues welcome.
                Tks...

Hi, Can we use SMPS Bench Power Supply for Laptop troubleshooting?
                by shamsudeen
Hi all, I just need to know that, can i use SMPS type power supply to test and short circuit detection on a laptop motherboard?
I saw 95% of repair guys are using only Linear bench power supply. linear bench power supply is pricy, thats why i planned to get one SMPS supply.

i know that in linear power supply the noise will be very low comparing to SMPS supply....
