    Samsung 2233BW - 2 seconds to black

    Hi,

So all of a sudden my screen starts turning off with the power light still on. I did some research and found that it usually has to do with bad caps or a bad inverter. Turning down the brightness to minimum worked for a few days but now it randomly turns the brightness up by itself and immediately turns off.

I was going to open it up and take pictures of the inside for you guys but I couldn't get the case open. I was able to loosen the sides but couldn't get through the top or bottom. I'm kind of hesitant because I don't know how much force I can use and where exactly I can pry without damaging something inside.

Does anybody have experience with this specific model? I tried googling and youtubing it but didn't have any luck. Once I get it open I can upload pictures.

    Thanks.

If you do not have steady hand, use flat plastic or wood (I use screw driver) to lift up the bezel enough to get your fingers to pull up the bezel and then work around to get 3 sides loose then put it face down and then lift up the cover.

I cannot read the P/N of the 8-pin SMD Power MOSFETs U202, U203 on the power supply-inverter board.
We need to check the resistance between the Drain pin and the Source pin to see if they show <100 Ohms resistance.

The power supply board looks like it has the main and standby supply all in one. But I can't tell for sure from the pictures you posted.

Can you take some shots of the whole power board in the picture? (both front and back sides).

As for the logic/video board - there doesn't seem much that can go wrong there. Only see some heat-discoloration around two regulators (1.8V in the TO-252 package and 3.3V in the SOT-223 package), which may not necessarily indicate any trouble.

Also, please attach pictures with the forum's built in feature.

Samsung UN40H5003 boot loop every ~8 seconds

Hi, I rescued a Samsung UN40H5003AF (H = 2014 FHD) from the curb. Symptoms are: standby (red) light comes on, stays on for 8 seconds, flickers off, then comes back on, and the cycle continues.

SMPS board: checked voltages, all seem normal (A13V = 12.8V, UD = 3.3V, PWM_BLU = 0.77V, PS_OnOff = 5.5V). Remove 10p cable to main board -> backlight comes on. I think this means SMPS board and backlight are good.

                  by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
