Philips 200SP monitor flickers on a vertical band only

    Hi all,

I wonder if bad caps could create this flickering on a part of the screen only?
Please see picture. I surrounded the area where the problem is.

    Any ideas ?

SOLVED ! : Philips 200SP monitor flickers on a vertical band only

As it was definitely not a badcaps problem,

        I tried to think differently...

The problem started at 3/8 of the width of the screen, and finished at 5/8 of the width of the screen.
I had a look to the upper card and I saw 8 coonections to the panel (see on the right of the attached pic).

So, I tried a "last chance" repair.

I "burned" the 3rd 4th and 5th connection with a heat gun (same way that i already save a graphic card on a laptop)

        It works fine !

        regards.

Could you please explain what exactly did you do when you said you burned the connector? Reflowed the solder to its contacts? Reshaped the Mylar flex circuit?

            Hi HAHOME,

You're right, may be "Burn" was not the correct word.
            Sorry for my bad english...

What I did : Reflow the solder to its contacts.
I heated the three mylar flex circuit with a heat gun, and I gently pressed them for some seconds.

            Another mistake, I wrote:
I saw 8 connections to the panel (see on the right of the attached pic).
If you open the picture, the 8 connectors are on the top of the picture...but i'm sure you understood.

            Regards.
