    ACER XV340CK 34" black screen

    Hi everyone,
I got this monitor with black screen problem.
I thought the problem was in the motherboard, so I bought 2 smashed monitor same model to disassemble boards and swap them, but same issue remains.
After some tries I've found out that connecting LVDS cable on-fly after powering on the LCD panel let me see the whole screen for half sec, then goes black again.
TCON got two output flats, because each flat goes to a tiny board with some COF, each tiny board manages half LCD panel.
I discover that if I leave connected only right side (right flat of the TCON), the monitor works perfectly.
As soon as I connect the left board (left flat of TCON) the monitor goes black, and then got no voltages even on the working right side.
Looks like TCON goes in protection due to a short, but I didn't found any short on the left tiny board, also COF looks ok.

COF flat is marked NOVATEK NT66956H-C12V2A, COF chip is market OTBOT52C.
Left tiny board is marked MV340VWB-N20, TCON is marked MV340VWB-N20-DDP0

    Any advice guys?
    Thanks

Tape the left flat ribbon. You either have to identify which pins are the clock signal or you do it trial and error.
But it might not last long if the right side also become short.
My last panel fixed only lasted for 2 months. It is luck to have it fixed.

      Thanks for your reply.
      Yes, you're right.
Each board got 6 COF, I've desoldered the last one of the left board and the LCD started, but without last row of the screen.
Then I resoldered the ribbon again but black screen came up again, so the COF is burnt.
Tried to reflow it without success.
Don't have any test point on the COF, no datasheet, so I'm very sorry but I'll bin everything

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
        by Daren87
        Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Lg TCon test pins for screen test
        by alltvrepairs
        Hi,
i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

        Appreciate your help....
