    Dell 2407WFp, strange problems

    Hello,

I am having some problems with my 2407. It sometimes switched off entirely so I now decided to replace all caps on the power supply and the inverter board. I did not actually pay attention to choosing low ESR models or anything, I just matched capacity and voltage rating.

So I ended up with some "YAEGO SY" for the 470uF/35V: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...57604443,d.Yms

and "YAEGO SE-K" for all of the rest:

while the former are low esr models, the others are not.

When replacing one of the capacitors I ripped off a trace which I replaced with a thin isolated wire. that should not be an issue.

Nevertheless, most of the times when switching on the monitor, it now shows wild colors and stripes until I repower it or wait some seconds. As a matter of fact, this seems to depend on the angle, the monitor is lying at, which I find rather strange.

It seems that some circuit that delivers the image to the panel does not power up! When working normally, some whirring sound comes out of the circuit below the shielding can which accepts the lvds cable. When I get artifacts and lines and such, the whirring is gone and the monitor is silent.

Can this be caused by choosing those SE-K type Capacitors, which are of too low quality? I did not have that problem before. Still, the backlight is working perfectly fine.

    Thank you in advance,
    Adrian

Check your soldering with a magnifying glass and disconnect clean and reconnect ALL cables. Fact that it changes with different angles suggests a physical problem.

    Then consider upgrading your caps
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

I swapped the 1uF cap with the one that came installed and the problems are gone. Might be that this is because of the improved solder joint due to the second attempt at soldering.
However I am going to leave it that way. I guess that the 1uF Cap has not failed anyway.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
        by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Problems extracting from Dell Bios Update.Inspiron 3793
        by Caimano
I am trying to repair a Dell Inspiron 3793 which has problems with start up, no battery charging and fan not running. I believe the Bios (probably the EC Region) is corrupted.
        The board is FDI45-LAJ091P REV 1.0 A00
        Processor i7 1065G7 with GPU
This MB has 2 Bios Chips (one 8MB and one 16MB chip).
I am trying to reload a new Bios with clean ME region, new main region and new EC region.
I attach the dumps of the 2 chips.
I successfully used ME analyzer to identify ME, PCH and PMC versions and used Flash Image Tool to install ME, PCH and PMC cleaned regions....

        Hello all,

this is my first post, so if I make mistakes please do not hesitate to point them out, thank you in advance.

I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:

If the laptop is only connected to the AC adapter (battery removed):

When I press the power button, the keyboard backlight and the display backlight are turning on. Caps key light is lightning, but key does not respond to pressing it.

        The power/battery...

        Looking for Dell Latitude 5520 / 5530 / 5540 RJ45 network connector replacement
        by diamon
I have a Dell Latitude 5530 with a damaged RJ45 network connector. See the attached pictures.

Have already searched on Farnell / Aliexpress / Ebay and had contact with several suppliers on Aliexpress and Ebay, but they cannot deliver this connector.
Is there someone inside the EU, who has these connector(s) or perhaps defective motherboard(s) for these laptop models I have mentioned in the topic title.
