    Acer AL1917 blinking power led

    Hi,
have this acer. Power led flashes green while i hear a squeaking noise from the panel board. Voltage are bad, 5V doesn't rise, the power board shout off and loops.
If I disconnect the video ribbon cable from the panel the rest of the monitor works. 5V are ok, backlights works, i can turn it on and off from the front panel.
So I think there's a short somewhere in the lcd board. I checked all the smd capacitors with the tester to find a short but none with zero resistance.
Have someone successfully repaired a lcd board?

No, I am very sorry. I posted in the wrong section!
        It's a simple monitor not a laptop.

Well, now it seems to work.
The panel board had nothing, even (I'm sure) with the squeaking noise.
I noticed that if I was powered it up with the ribbon disconnected, turn it off with the button, reconnected the ribbon and turn it off it worked with a little indecision but worked. So I changed a couple of 47uF caps (maybe startup or the 5v circuit) that red only 43-44 at the capacimeter (I don't have an esr meter but I ordered a chinese one yesterday...).
Please move this thread to Display.

            Done
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards
