    Very strange problem Samsung 920WM

I have a 2007 samsung synchmaster with a wierd symptom.

The top third to quarter of the screen is much brighter than the bottom part. AND this is a very well defined horizontal border across the whole screen between the upper and lower parts. That is, the good part doesn't gradually fade into a bad part, it's like crossing a border. The bottom 2/3-3/4 of the screen displays fine.

the other WEIRD part is that when the mouse pointer is on the top part of the screen (the clearly defined bright part), the pointer has a ghost/trail. That is, if you move the mouse pointer across the problem part of the screen, it has a trail of pointers following after it, and there seems to be some lag between my hand movement and what happens on the screen.

No components LOOK bad. I don't have any spare parts to switch out with. I replaced all the caps on the tcon board.

The pics are of the screen saver moving across the border, both downwards and upwards.

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!!

Sharp border with a clearly definable video issue (in this case the mouse leaving trails or ghosting) tells me there's a fault in whatever processes the video for the LCD panel. T CON board probably.

thanks, I'm trying to post pics, but I the badcaps server keeps rejecting me after uploading them.
After uploading to 100%, I get an internal server error message 500, and then nothing shows on the thread.

OK, now I'm going to try with url's.

don't yell at me b/c I couldn't do this as attachments!

I have no idea why one pic came out so big.

It's a pity that the picture that shows the display came out small. What you can see is that below a horizontal line/position, every thing is fine. Above that your can see how distorted the screen saver is.
