I-INC iL 272 - No power

I came back to my desk and my right monitor was off. No power light, or anything.

I had a friend who knows his way around a soldering iron come by to take a look this evening, and poke around with a multimeter.

We believe (well, he believes, I have no basis to go on) that it may be the cap in the upper right (100v 47 uF) that is the culprit as it gives no reading.

I could find no threads on this monitor, so I am kind of at a loss.

Unfortunately, the information is of no help at all.How did he check the cap, resistance ?ESR ?.Voltage across it ?...It lloks fine,although that does not mean a lot,but suspect there is more wrong than that.You need to check voltages eg is there AC coming in, past the fuse and onto the Bridge Rectifier,is there DC then going to the long thin capacitors etc etc etc.

That capacitor is near the connector that says LED1-, etc... I'm guessing it is involved in the LED backlight driver circuit.

Do you have any other voltages on the power supply?

What voltages do you have on CN2, are any of them matching the labels on the board next to the connector?

Sorry, as I said, I don't really know my way around a circuit board.

Cap was checked with a digital multi-meter. No ESR check, forgot to check resistance on it (doh!)
Ac coming in - yes
Voltages at cn2- yes, all metered at ~5.2v DC
long skinny caps showed 77-80v, smaller caps near cn2 showed ~5v

The long skinny capacitors should have about 160 volts DC on them, because the mains voltage in the US is around 120 volts AC.
