    westinghouse DAC-19M005

How it going! My screen was having issue with flickering couple of days ago then on saturday all of an sudden I boot up my pc the bios screen pops up then i get a black screen the light is green so the pc is communicating with the monitor. I did all basic troubleshooting so I went researching the cause of the problem.

I took apart my screen found both top 200uf was blown so i assumed it was just these to. I went to radio shack and bought two 200uf 35v ( i know I shouldn't use these just wanted to check if will temporarily fix my problem) but didn't work.

I came across this site and I spent a few hours researching and reading up threads and posts. I tried to test the rectifier it reads 30-50 intermittently and check the big cap and is showing .2volts. I don't know it in doing it right. I'm using digital meter and is on 200 dvc. I'm posting pics as well please disregard the radio shack caps I desolder those already. I'm using 25watt solder I need a new tip is dirty n not soldering correctly. What type of solder is best to use n circuitry work just curious. I'm using a 60/80 I believe I'm at work just guessing.

Any help is greatly appreciated I'm a dyi type if guy so I'm really doing want to buy a new monitor if I don't have too.

    Thx

First, you need good soldering iron, 40 Watts or more. Only 0.2VDC (should be 160~170VDC) on the main dc filter cap sounds like the main fuse is blown. Not quite clear about your rectifier readings.
Diagram attached. There are SMD fuses on the power supply/inverter board and the MOSFETs that need to be checked.
There are many threads on this DAC board, just search for it in this forum.

Ok i found that f200 has 25v but f101 dont have any reading. next to f101 is c100 i tried to get a reading but shows nothing. in the vicinity it looks burnt i took some pics. also right below it i drop some solder on the tracer i try cleaning it up as best as i could. would it affect the circuit? Any input would be great.

              Westinghouse W55UW4620 No Video
              by Nicktronic
Ok, so I know I know, it's a Westinghouse....lol It's got the backlights but no video. Likely the panel, but I'd like to take some measurements on the buffer board with help from you experts to confirm. See the attached pictures. In pic #1, there's a nice pin reference to use to take some measurements. The large IC in pic #7 gets up to 60degC when the TV is on.

So, backlights, no video, go! 🙂...

Help Request - Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105)
              by EBW
Westinghouse 32" Smart TV (Model: WD32HBR105) . Originally stuck on logo with no response from remote and no firmware file available to flash via USB. Westinghouse Support stated it would require service but that wasn't a cost effective option. I used dental floss to remove the motherboard processor heatsink to identify what make it was (Mstar). Unfortunately that knowledge didn't help with a solution. After the heatsink removal it only displayed a completely white screen. I then decided to replace the motherboard with a universal 3-in-1 board but the white screen problem continued. This...

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply
              by Seville
              Hello all!

Westinghouse TV WD48FAB100 Not Powering On – Burn Mark Found on Power Supply .

I have a Westinghouse LED TV, model WD48FAB100 that is not powering on. Upon removing the back cover, I noticed a burn mark where the AC cord connects to the power supply/main board. In this model, there is only one board combining the two functions. Previous owner said the TV experienced a lightening strike, but who knows. I checked the main fuse, tested OK. Here are a collection of readings from the power supply ports. Looking for some guidance on what to test/check next....

Radio Shack Digital Multimeter Cat # 22-811
              by CapSnap123
I'm trying to fix a digital multimeter. It was working until I blew the fuse (actually the "buzz" for continuity wasn't working). I've now replaced the fuse but it's acting strangely. When I turn the dial to V, nothing happens. But when I turn to anything else, it makes a continuous, very fast clicking sound - like the piezo buzzer is trying to do something. And at each position of the dial (other than V) there are brief flashes of life on the LCD. It doesn't seem to matter if the probes are connected. I wasn't sure where to start, so I've tested most of the diodes and cleaned the...
