Samwha WB capacitor issues inside Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX

Had 2 units Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX monitor with random problems which for most of the time can't display anything (the LED keeps blinking only). Inside each unit were found 3 bulged Samwha capacitors which I proceed to replace. Now they worked fine. The issue is that 2 of those capacitors are not found in the official datasheet...

    Inside the monitor...

    - Samwha WB, 1000uF 25V 105C, 10x20mm, ?mA@100kHz, ?R@100kHz

    Datasheet...

    - Samwha WB, 1000uF 25V 105C, 12.5x20mm, 2360mA@100kHz, 0.025R@100kHz

Different can sizes from the official datasheet. This isn't the first time I've encountered odd capacitor can sizes that are not found in the datasheets (this includes those from CapXon and Ltec). Looking at the datasheet, I would assume that the ripple and ESR follows the can size? See attached picture. Would it be safe to assume that for all 10x20mm sizes, its 1820mA+0.027R@100kHz?

    The replacement capacitors used were...

    - Nichicon HE, 1000uF 25VDC 105C, 12.5x20mm, 1900mA@100kHz, 0.035R@100kHz

    - Panasonic FR, 1000uF 25VDC, 10x20mm, 2180mA@100kHz, 0.020R@100kHz

I reckon Panasonic FMs are the most suitable, but I've ran out of them and only had these Panasonic FRs and Nichicon HEs in hand at that moment.

    The other replacements are...

    - Samwha WB, 1000uF 16VDC 105C, 10x20x5mm, 1820mA@100kHz, 0.027R@100kHz

    with...

    - Panasonic FR, 1000uF 16VDC, 10x16x5mm, 1790mA@100kHz, 0.028R@100kHz

Those are pretty close to each other, though again Panasonic FMs would be much more desireable (but don't have any left, need to order). Should I stay with the current replacements, or change them (to Panasonic FMs)?

I use FM, if I run out, I use FR or FC instead. No problem on any one of them.

Re: Samwha WB capacitor issues inside Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX

Currently testing one of the units with the following replacements...

      - Samwha WB, 1000uF 16VDC 105C, 10x20mm, 1820mA@100kHz, 0.027R@100kHz

      with...

      - Nichicon HE, 1000uF 16VDC, 10x20mm, 1400mA@100kHz, 0.046R@100kHz

Seems to be holding up very well (stable), although its replacements are rather "under-specification" (ie. slightly lower ripple and a little higher ESR than original failed capacitor). According to the datasheets, that Nichicon HE has better specifications than the Panasonic FCs (for 10x20mm, 1220mA@100kHz and 0.052R@100kHz)...

Will it last for a very long time?

        Samsung Syncmaster 740BF repair
        by soopacrucial
        Hi folks,

I'm new here and was wondering whether you might be kind enough to give me some advice on troubleshooting the following problem:

Quite a few years ago now, a couple of years from new, my Samsung Syncmaster 740BF LCD monitor starting playing up by making a buzzing noise and then the display would go blank. I seem to remember the blue power led would also go off when this happened but that I'm not 100% sure of. By pressing the power button I do remember I could at first get it working again but eventually the problem would come back. At the time I had read about...

I need to order some 1000uf @ 16 volt it has to be 8mm in diameter what is a good choice

Here is the page of capacitors that I can choose from what is a good choice for a FSP 400-60GLC
        https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...Xmc1YPJ6BlESoA

I try to use a 565-1664-ND which is a 10mm in diameter unfortunately it will not fit because there are two of them the same size and value and there is no room and they go to two different circuits not in parallel...

        Vizio M60-C3 Replacing 1000uF 16V with 1000uF 35V capacitors?
        by frannyjunk
Hi, my Vizio M60-C3 does not power on. No lights whatsoever. Upon opening up the TV, the power supply board has 4 bulging capacitors. Each is 1000uF 16V. I have read that one can use capacitors of the same uF and higher voltage rating, but is 1000uF 35V capacitor too high of a voltage rating? My local shop only has these higher voltage capacitors so would rather just buy the 35V variety if it is OK to use them.

Any thoughts if OK to use these higher voltage capacitors?

        samwha? in Samsung...
        by eccerr0r
I have an old apfc psu in a Samsung TV using Samwha WL-series capacitors. By inspection they are obviously dead. Oddly enough the other caps in the TV seem okay. Samwha appears to be a dubious manufacturer but are they? Their WL datasheet seems like they did do something to rate the capacitors but nevertheless they failed first, spectacularly.

As a proof of concept fix I'm tempted to replace them (two parallel 82uF 450V low esr) with two *series* 470uF 230V general purpose capacitors...

Should last an hour at least to prove the rest of the TV works, no?

Samsung SyncMaster 215TW buzzing / lightning in power board socket
        by nh2
This is my first post here. I just fixed my first 2 broken displays by replacing broken capacitors (Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, and Samsung SyncMaster 213T). But I have a third one I'm unable to fix, and am eager to fix as well:

My Samsung SyncMaster 215TW makes a buzzing / hissing sound when turned on.

The sound is louder the brighter the monitor is, e.g. in the "Game" preset is is even louder than in a softer preset.

Opening up the monitor and unplugging the small socket cables that run from the power board to the LCD, I can see a small blue...
