    LG flatron L204ws BLACK SCREEN

    Thank you all in advance.....

Else what the problem is, power led blue is on and my screen is black (dimmed ???).
I sort of now some of the electronics, have welding tool, etc, have managed to repair my own screen, this one is a friend of mine.....

When looking to a power board where the inverter is everything seems to be ok, I have done some measuremnts and bu following some other threads it seems to be ok....

There are no blown capacitors (at least visualy-which does not mean that they r ok....)

Can you please guide me to what the possible cause could be....or how can I be sure that it;s power supply problem and not the tubes..

So once again, when I power up monitor it shows dimmed LOGO of LG and goes dark in 1 sec....if I play with power button like on/off logo comes out for a second and goes dark again....

    1. Should I try with raplacing capacitors or ???

There is a way to test the lead from cord to inverter to tube and back....and really diagnose the problem....

    Thanks

Its no good saying you tested some things and they were ok.
What did you test and what were the results.
    Do you have a multimeter.

Ok - On the transformer the two test results should be within 3% of each other
          were they?

Have you another monitor you can try the bulbs in?

A first test is to plug in the lead from only one bulb then switch on
          Does that bulb flash?

Do the same for the other bulbs. Switch off between plugging and unplugging.

This test will ONLY show up a fully broken bulb or its wiring - it will not flash.

I know that with my Dell 17' monitor I had to replace 4 transistor's which seemed to be faulty or not faulty but best to die, also got this from forum, they were first to die with this model, so was wondering maybe same thing, but honestly dont now where to start from and what to measure and when measured what next....???
                thanks...

There are 4 bulbs in the LG - did you test all 4?

If you can test them in the Dell that would be great - if they light dont keep them on for long say 10 seconds only..

Soldering on the Dell would be very important the LG should be better.
Having said that there were quite afew solder joints I was not sure about.
Can you look (picture4) right hand side the solder on C417 looks completely cracked and same on C411?
