    Re: Asus MK241H no power

Thank you very much. I will look into it.
Yesteday I have sent a private message to the person who gave me the resistor values, but I don't have much hope that he will answer.
Which transistor is the Q101? Which one did you buy?

Never mind, the transistor I have replaced already a while back.

CORRECTION! In the previous post, I said that R172 was .01 ohm. I should have said 0.1 ohms - still 2 watt. BTW the SMT resistors are 805.

Ignore last post - brain fart. Original post was correct. For Q101 I used an STF18NM60N.

            Re: Asus MK241H no power

            I have ordered 0.1 Ohm/2W resistor.
I'm waiting for the parts to arrive.
I don't know how come I haven't checked this resistor, it's so obvious that is open, I can actually see a piece blown from it.
I was concentrating so much on the SMD parts, that I have forgot to actually look on the other side of the board for bad through hole components.

              Re: Asus MK241H no power

I have replaced the mentioned components and there is no change.
The only voltage I'm getting is the 166V, nothing else.
The TEA chip is not getting the right Vcc(which I don't know how much it should be), it's only getting 1.8V. At the pin 8 I have 141V.

                Re: Asus MK241H no power

I have looked at the TEA pdf and there it is mentioned that the Vcc is getting from the transformer after the PS is started.
So this IC won't start only after the PS is started.
I must have another problem that is causing to not start.
At the output connector that goes to the mainboard, I'm not getting almost anything. On some of the pins I'm getting less then 0.5V.
Should I have standby voltage? No light turns on, when plugged in.

Nobody can explain to me what should be happening with this PS to be able to start?
It should have a standby voltage? On the output connector toward the mainboard, nothing is printed on the board.

                      Re: Asus MK241H no power

I have just gave up and purchased a new board from Ebay ($49.90), put it in and it's working great.
The only check I have done is to make sure that we had the right resistors and we did.
It's a nice monitor, with webcam, speaker, HDMI input.

                        Sorry for my poor english.

I have removed that diode and measured it and it conducts in one way and doesn't conduct the other way. That is good? It shouldn't conduct a bit the other way?

                              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Hello, I have an issue with the motherboard. Specifically, it doesn't power on, more precisely, the POST initialization doesn't occur.

Let me start from the beginning, the motherboard suddenly stopped working one day. There are no beep signals from the speaker, and the debug LEDs are not lighting up. After inspecting it under a microscope and using thermal imaging, I didn't find anything that could be damaged.

After that, I began voltage measurements, in which I noticed the absence of VDDQ, VDDP, VTT, and VPP lines. Later, I checked if there is an EN state on these lines,...

Hello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                              Assuming...

When I reflash again the bios of hoaca388 the unit powers on and the unit lives!!! Hooray!! All voltage in the coil 3.3v, 5v and 6.7v indicate charging are all present. including the cpu voltage , EEPROM and GPU voltage the unit is now alive, normal screen booting to windows and log in screen until I power it off. Then the unit never goes on even when pressing the power button in the keyboard.. Voltage reading 19v main , 3.3v VCC in IT8225E-128 and EEPROM VCC 0 volt and the charging voltage 0 volt.
