Re: HP 2009M broken lamp wire
Very good disassembly pictures!
This has proved to a very common fault on that style of HP from the 19”-23”models.
There will be times when you inspect the wiring you will NOT notice a fault, however if you strip about an inch of wire back on the return wire of the CCFL that's giving you problems you will find the wiring turned to powder.Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing! -
Re: HP 2009M broken lamp wire
First thing I did once I can I get access to the end of the lamp assemblies is to gently tug on the wire, this one just came right out very easily and there was no sign of heating or burnt at all, but I did notice that they did not provide any slack on the wires at all.Never stop learning

by emeskayWe have an Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK that we use as a secondary laptop. To cut a long story short, around May 2023, while traveling, I connected the laptop into an electrical outlet that was already switched on. Something made a "pfft" sound and the laptop refused to turn on after that. After getting back home, I gave the the laptop for repair to an informal repair person. He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. Essentially, every alternate horizontal line on the screen had gone missing. The laptop was...1 Photo

by mar1inHi everyone,
I've saved a pair of Philips AH 495 speakers from landfill and diagnosed the woofers are not working due to a loose or broken tinsel wire just on the joint of the cone (left wire on the picture)
What's the best and easiest way to fix this without damaging the cone ?
Can this be simple soldered on?...-

by SluggerBI am trying to fix a broken plasma TV by replacing a large cap on the power board. It is a 1900uf 220v cap and I could only find one place that sells them. It was listed as through hole, so I bought it. It showed up today, but instead of through hole, it has spade connectors.
Would it be safe to get some heavy duty wire (like lamp cord wire), connect that to spade connectors, connect them to the spades on the cap, and run the other ends of the wire 2-3 inches to the holes and then through the holes and solder them in place? I actually did it already and put it together but...-

by wnlewisOK. I got the rocker switch figured out thanks to the good advice on this forum.
Now I need to figure out the correct wire to go to the switch from the broiler element and from the oven element.
This is a Whirlpool RDE3340 electric range.
The common wire on the switch appears to have a high temperature insulating material. I am guessing that both the wire to the broiler and the wire to the oven elements also need relatively high temperature insulation. What do I need to look for? The broiler is rated at about 2400 watts.
Where may I find parts... -
Hoping someone here can put me on the right track. I'm trying to troubleshoot/flowchart the "internal projector error" on my newly acquired Facebook Marketplace bought Epson 5040UB projector (3LED, not DLP). Owner said it needed new lamp, actually error code blink pattern indicates "Internal Projector Error, call Epson support". Unit is out of warranty as of 8/19
Here's what happens:
1) Power on
2) Blue power indicator lights and the lens cover motor opens the lens cover, light fan noise heard
3) Blue status light flashes for appx 4 minutes... - Loading...
