    HP 22in desktop monitor

The monitor has been acting up for about a month or so with vertical lines on the whole screen. No problems with backlighting at all. When I turn it on sometimes it does it shortly after start up other times it may take 20 minutes before it starts. Then it does the lines for anywhere from a minute to 20 minutes then stops and is good till the next time that I turn the monitor on from a cold start.
What should I look for when I open it up? And where should I look? I am planning on a new monitor but would like to fix this one if possible and have 2 22in monitors. Sorry I don't have a model number as I am at work at the moment.

This sounds like either bad caps or caps with high ESR (ohms).

Take it apart and have a look. If you do spot bad caps, see

As caps warm up the ESR drops which is why it takes 20 minutes to come on.

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
          by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

ACER BM320 Monitor - Horizonal Flickering Lines After a While
          by reessi
          Hello,

The monitor started off showing flickering thin (1 pixel) lines horizontally every say 3mm..

They are black on the right and gradually fade to nothing on the far left.
They start either after 5 mins or up to 2 hours after so annoying for testing.
They flicker continuously very fast! With a slight pause milli-second every second.

Initially I cleaned the LVDS cable and connected to the T-Con and then it worked fine for 3 weeks but not sure if this was just co-incidence.

I tested each half by removing the first the left flex from...

Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34" - Horizontal lines
          by Kikerumbo
          Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have a Mi Curved Gaming Monitor 34". A few weeks ago it started to show (or not showing) horizontal lines. Of course, it's outside of the warranty period.

After some hours of reading and watching videos I disassembled the monitor and checked the ribbons that go from the TCON board to the panel PCB. If I disconnect the ribbon for the right side of the panel, the other half shows a perfect image. I ordered a "new" TCON, installed it and the issue persists so that tells me it must...
