HP 22in desktop monitor
The monitor has been acting up for about a month or so with vertical lines on the whole screen. No problems with backlighting at all. When I turn it on sometimes it does it shortly after start up other times it may take 20 minutes before it starts. Then it does the lines for anywhere from a minute to 20 minutes then stops and is good till the next time that I turn the monitor on from a cold start.
What should I look for when I open it up? And where should I look? I am planning on a new monitor but would like to fix this one if possible and have 2 22in monitors. Sorry I don't have a model...

Need Help, First time Ordering a Cap for a PSU for a Computer
A freind at work recently had a PSU go on her and Best Buy replaced it with a new one. I asked her for the old supply to see if I could fix it. I found a bad capacitor in it. I have since got it removed and here is the all the information off the side of it
Teapo 2200uf 10v sj105c 04/08 T3
I have never ordered a capacitor but I have been reading here about making sure to order low ESR Capacitors.
The Power Supply is a Bestec ATX0300D5WC Rev. A
I am repairing for the experience of it as I have never repaired a PSU before. What I am looking for...

Re: Acer X243W Goes Dark after Showing Acer.
This is the caps on the inverter board. They look fine to the eye and I checked the board visually to see if anything looked burnt but I couldn't find anything. Sorry if the quality of the pictures are not very good. I can get in closer but then I have to take more and more pictures to cover all of the board. Hope this is ok....

Acer X243W Goes Dark after Showing Acer.
I am new to the forums and have an issue with my 24in acer. I have replaced all but one cap on the power board. Only reason I didn't do that was that it wasn't locally available and currently showing no signs of bubbling. I will order a replacement for it. Even though I don't believe its the fault of my problem I replaced it as I had it open and caps are cheap to replace.
I believe my problem may lie in the the inverter or CCFLs. I was reading in another post about being able to use a resistor take the place of a CCFL so that I could test each one. I have never don't anything like that...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
Greetings,
I have been doing some research into monitors and stumbled accross your forums. Just reading some of the posts here I can tell this is quickly going to become one of my favorites forums.
What I am looking for a one of those in line testers, but not break the bank. I have noticed you all quite often say that caps are bad when they don't even show signs. Which it isn't hard to figure out that I need to get me a tester. It doesn't have to be new. Just someplace I can get a reliable one....
