    Hyundai L90

I have a dead 19" Hyundai L90D+ that I really would like to fix and I think I'm getting closer to this.
Here is what's the problem : just after plug in the power cord, the blue power led turns on. About 5 seconds later, this same led quickly turns to orange and everything shutdown like if a short has come (I can also hear a tick at this time). So, this process restart and loop forever. No Backlight at all.

I have opened up the monitor and isolated 2 chips or parts that seem to have burnt themselves out on the solder side of the board. the part numbers are MBR20100CT Diodes.

Would this be the cause of the failure?

the solder on the board is blackened and the area around seems to have some heat damage

    Re: Hyundai L90

They are probably victims rather than the cause of the problem, and certainly at least one of them is still good. It is more likely that the inverter fuse has blown.

Beyond that, if you want help, the best thing you can do is to take pictures of the top and bottom of the power supply board and ATTACH them to your next post. Use 'Manage Attachments' - below the text entry area.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
      by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable
      by Stephen
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

Best way to solder LVDS connector for beginner (and qfn) ?
      by corrize
Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).

I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.

I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
      See the test :

With hot air from bellow the board, that's...

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
      by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

UV solder mask - high temp resistent, recomendation?
      by myth77
Can someone recommend any good UV solder mask? But i need a solder mask that will stand high temperetures. The thing is...sometimes i have a bigger cooper ripped from the board, lets say mosfet pad... i reconstract it with cooper sheet, then i "glue it" with solder mask...then i use UV light...and let it cool a bit. After, i try to clean the cooper of extra solder mask..and till that part all is ok. But, when i use a soldering iron to solder that pad/cooper...the solder mask gets weaker or destroyed and finally the pad is ripped again from the board .
      Is there any solder mask...
