    Dell 1505fp dead

Anybody had any experience with Dell 1505fp lcd monitors? I have one that's dead to the world. No lights, nada. It has one of those integrated power supply/inverter boards. I checked most of the caps on both the controller and the power supply and I didn't find anything bad. Some of those small can smt caps on the controller had between 3-5 ohms esr but still rang good on my sencore lc103.All other cap function tests showed good. They are no blown fuses. Does anyone have any input? I don't have any experience with lcd's other than changing ccfl's once in a while. Thanks guys

is that the one with the ice2as someting chip and a shorted mosfet?
if so its a pattern failure due to a bad batch of chips.

I have pattern baldness and a short fuse,
but my caps are still good.

Also didn't find anything shorted. Kc8 are you there? I hope those aren't crickets I hear.

                Hi aceshigh!

Are there any voltages at all out from the psu, backlight?
Have you managed to find out which pin is the PSU,s on/off if so check for any dc at the secondary side if not hook up the scope and check for any start up pulses, had one lcd monitor which was dead found out that as soon as a load was connected to the psu the output voltage dropped to nearly zero a optocoupler was the culprit, don't recal the brand.
What kind of switcher does your psu use?

Dell XPS 9365 - USB-PD Controller dead - Needs programming? Experience?
                  by groomit
                  Dear all,
currently I have a dead Dell XPS 9365 sitting on my bench. Fault description "Used to charge sometimes. Now not charging at all". Confirmed. USB-C Charger doesn't output anything. So probably no charging protocoll was defined. Further testing by voltage injection revealed the USB-C PD IC (CYPD4125) heating up.

                  So my question is:
Has anybody experience in replacing above IC? Does it need manual programming? According to the datasheet it contains an ARM CPU and internal flash. According to the laptop schematics it is connected to the EC via I2C....

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                  by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                  Dell dockstation WD15 is dead
                  by Francesc V.
                  Hi:

A friend gave me this DELL WD15 dockstation that does nothing. Not detected by computer, no digital output.........just leds shines when it’s plugged in.
Here are the findings, followed by good pictures. :-)

                  When pluged in, LED3 glows

                  - PL201 has 3.3V

                  - UT30 has 19v as input and 6V as output. It seems ok.
                  - UT27 (same reference as UT30, has no input/output voltage).

DELL Latitude 5410 - dead; pwrbtn flashing
                  by YellowJacket
                  Hi folks,
DELL Latitude 5410, board number FDZ41 LA-J371P Rev: 1.0 (A00), schematic uploaded in different post, here is the link --> https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=3484415

When I connect it to a power ( DELL round charger, or USB-C ), LED on the power button starts flashing white, and the laptop doesn't do anything ( flashing slows for a very brief time in time when I press it, but it continues again ). Battery is not charging. While the charger is connected, I have few voltages present, but some of them are fluctuating, see attached pictures.
                  All I was able...

                  Dell Latitude 5520 completely dead
                  by diamon
I have bought a not complete and defective Dell Latitude 5520 for parts (needed the networkconnector (RJ45) to repair a other board).
Have repaired the other board (Dell Latitude 5540) and I wanted to know if I could find out what is wrong with the 5520 board (SouthPeak15 TGL MB 8L 19819-1) and perhaps repair this one also.

After connecting the USB-C charger (both USB-C ports on the laptop, does not have an other option) and pressing the power button, nothing happens (no lights or fans, no capslock).
Have checked with a thermal camera, and there are a couple of things...
