Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
Have you tried substituting known good CCFLs? Or hooking up a known good panel?
You stated you replaced a number of capacitors. What brand and series did you use as replacements?

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
Service manual does not see this.
I have 6,89v at primary t501 and 6,89v at primary t502, but only for 2 secs at power on.
Whitout power it has 485 kohm and 482 kohm between the two out of t501 and t502Leave a comment:

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
hi! i'm new here. i have the same model as this and got the same issue. two ccfls on top are busted. it's hard to get a replacement from where i am.
is there any way i could run this lcd with only 2 bottom ccfls?
i saw an article online about bypassing the feedback.
http://www.bestelectronicarticles.co...ht-system.html
can this be done so i can run it with busted ccfls? if yes, how? i can't find the datasheet of the inverter ic.
btw, i already removed the busted ccfls, replaced the ecaps and reflowed some bad solder.
thanks in advance!Leave a comment:

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
Finally, opened up the panel to reach the CCFL lamps. Replaced the top dual lamp with a new one. Now working great !!! The toughest is to keep dust and fingerprint away from the panel layers, opening and assembly is quite easy.
On the old dual lamp, found that the fault could to due to the browning and rather bad corrision of the wiring near the ends of the lamps, likely from the years of usage at high voltage.
FYI, I believe if I replaced the wiring in the old lamps, they could be re-used. So for those who have difficulty finding replacement lamp, they could try out this method first.
Once again thanks all for the valuable advice !!!Leave a comment:

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
I'm sure lots of members change them where necessary, even though they can be a pain.Example......I got an Acer 1706,Top backlight had failed, went to replace, BUT as heat rises, and this had been used for a good few years, the plastic type connector to the screen had become brittle, and split as soon as it was 'unfolded' to remove it.
In the UK at one time,no doubt you could have taken it to a TV repair shop, and they may have helped, but now those shops are few and far between, due to the rubbish from the Far East we now get, little technical info in some cases, and difficulty with spares, which is why we are becoming a 'throw away' nation, and no doubt other countries are also going or already gone that way.Leave a comment:

I've done 2, you have to be real careful the bulbs can break real easy, ccflwarehouse has assemblies you have to know the part # of the panel.Leave a comment:

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
You can change them, but the name of the game is ' with great care' as it is easy to damage the screen. Most Forum members will probably say this is the hardest repair to do on monitors. There is a video on Youtube somewhere that shows how to do one,and I'm sure someone can point you to that.GOOD LUCK
where can i order them ?

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by rybbyHi,
I have an acer aspire 5 a515-51 that turns on but has a black screen.
This laptop has the same symptoms as https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...er+aspire+a515, however mine is a different model Acer Aspire A515-51 (without the 'G'). There is no onboard ram on this laptop.
Description of the problem is the same: I press the power button, the fan spins for a few seconds and then stops, the computer stays on all the time (led blue), the cpu and gpu are lukewarm. If I leave the pc on for a few minutes the fan starts... -
