Re: Vizio E420-A0 Horizontal Lines
Got around to playing with tape widths and so far I found the right tracks to cover and the picture looks fine. It worked, don't know why, but go figure. Will see how long it lasts

Re: Vizio E420-A0 Horizontal Lines
Don't know why it worked for him. But tried it and no help, guess it's time to order one unless there are any other suggestions?...Last edited by De3rcr; 03-06-2017, 02:23 PM.

Vizio E420-A0 Horizontal Lines
I turned on my TV the other day and the screen had these lines that were shifting up and down. I re-seated the cables from the main board to the panel and there was no change. Should I buy a new main board or is it the panel?...

Re: Acer P193w - blink screen
I've done 2, you have to be real careful the bulbs can break real easy, ccflwarehouse has assemblies you have to know the part # of the panel.

Toshiba 46RF350U 46" LCD chassis TAC774
Hi everyone,
I picked up my first TV from an electronics repair shop that was going out if business. It's a Toshiba 46RF250U chassis TAC774. I've repaired a dozen or so lcd monitors but this my first time attempting a TV. It's has a couple of vertical lines going down on the right side of the screen, the left side looks like its ghosting in blocks going horizontal and as it gets to the right side it clears up. It looks like the repair shop replaced most of the caps on the power supply board cause there are someof the larger ones are nichicon HE that look brand new, and there are a lot of...

Re: Viewsonic VG2230 backlight
It is recommended here to replace all the caps(looks like there are 9) except the big one(ce106). Most people recommend Panasonic FR, FM, FC as replacements. Make sure you get the specs of the caps( uf, voltage, height and diameter) when ordering.

Re: Samsung Syncmaster 2220wm
I get mine at ccfl warehouse(ccflwarehouse.com). If they don't have it listed on their site call them and tell them what the panel part number is.
Beat me to it Retired.

Dell 1800FP display smudges?
I fixed this one by replacing the caps and power chip. When I hooked it up there were what looks like smudges on the panel, but I cleaned it off and they were still there. There is a small scratch on the top left, but that's not where the darkness is, I guess it is in the inside of the panel. Anyone take one of these apart? It looks like a pain in the a$$. Or does anyone have any other ideas what this could be?...

Re: Planar PL1700M-BK
I think I'm just going to keep it for parts, it was free. The power supply works and the voltage regs work and others. I don't want to try your suggestion and like you said and need the fire extinguisher and not have any parts. Also doesn't that chip control other things?

Re: Planar PL1700M-BK
I traced the power supply 0.07v to what I think is the eprom and also traced the power switch 3.53v to the same chip and when I press the switch the 0.07v on the chip doesn't change. So I think that chip is either bad or corrupt....

looks like the power board is fine. I'm trying to find the power on from the logic card. I think it's the 0.05 pin(am I right)?...

Re: Planar PL1700M-BK
The logic board from the other one worked in this one. It powered up, the backlights came on and the osd was displayed, then it went into standby(Works normal). So I took voltages at the connector from the power board while pressing the power button.
Here is what I got from the top pin down
5.17v when off then down to 5.02 when power on then up to 5.22 then to5.17
0v when off and 0 when on
0v when off and 0 when on
0v when off and 0 when on
1.33v when off then 1.28 on then to 1.33
0v when...

Re: Planar PL1700M-BK
The diodes both read .143 in both directions on the diode test and I get 5.21v on the side where the line is.
checking the resistors...

OK, with everything disconnected from the power supply board and the white wire being the top
5.21
