    Can my 2005FPW be repaired?

Things first started going bad with it when the screen would have horizontal lines all over it, looking all jumbled also, after turning it on. It also flickered while doing this, but went back to normal after a minute or two.

Then I noticed the screen would start to get really (trying to remember here, might be incorrect) pixelated? Best way I can think to describe it. I'd move the mouse really fast and it'd slowly bring the screen back to normal.

The pixelated screen after being turned on just continued to get worse and over time it took longer and longer for the screen to normalize, so eventually I just kept it on 24/7. Kept it on for months. However, one day someone in the house decided to turn it off and that was the end of it. Couldn't be turned back on.

I've included front/back pictures of the board with the power supply on it (I believe) but if anyone needs anymore closer up detailed shots let me know.

Also from the description I tried my best to provide.. does it sound like this is a repairable issue?

    Thanks for any help.

edit: just realized these pictures might not of the highest quality. If not, I'll see if my gf has a digicam.

Please provide pictures of the logic board as well.

    Do you have a multimeter?

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

I do have a multimeter. I've only ever used it to check fuses in the car, however. I know how to follow directions tho.

        1) Does the power LED go green/blue?

        2) If the power LED is on, hookup a working computer displaying your favourite wallpaper. If you shine a flashlight on the screen, do you see the wallpaper?

LED lights do not turn on at all. After turning it on you could hear a little "wheezing" but that's about it.

Can you please provide some clearer focused photos of the power and logic boards. It's very difficult to see the parts.

Need to go jack up my car and remove (had a blow out) some tires. Will get out the digicam later today and check back with y'all.

Love trying to fix stuff instead of selling/trashing/buying new, so this lil project is right up my ally. GF has a cat that has ate through a bunch of my electronics wires. Fixed 'em all, but this is beyond my know-how so I appreciate the help.

With no power LED at all, it is time to take voltage measurements and check the fuses

                  1) plug in lcd
                  2) put your multimeter on 200V DC
                  3) CAREFULLY measure the voltage across the large main filter capacitor lying on its side (Samxon)

The voltage should be 120V (if you are in the USA) x 1.414 or roughly 165V DC.

                  4) With power off and lcd unplugged, check the fuses on your board. Set your multimeter to 200 ohms (if manual). A good fuse should read less than 1.0 ohms.

Before I attempt any of this, should I rehook it all up? Or do I just need the board with the power supply plug on it hooked up to the LCD?

It is best to hookup as many boards as possible to get a "load". You don't need the cover back on.

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
                        by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Trouble to identify part (Lunii screen) for replacement
                        by FreakyMex
Hello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...
