Primaries should be 0.3 ohms. Secondaries will range from 250 to 1500 ohms depending on the transformer. Post your results and we can help interpret.

Have you tried what PlainBill sugested?
If you don't have a ring tester you may be able to prove the coil as being a problem, by looking for a difference in the brightness of the flash of the backligts, on each individual transformer.

PlainBill I connected a full set they didn't stay on long enough but at what I could see they were equally bright

both transformers had the same results:
@.5 ohms at the primary and @450 ohms at the secondary.

Reading through other 1905 FP threads; one had an issue of bad solder joint at the back light on pin.
Can you see if the BL on voltage stays the same when the lamps turn off?

These readings suggest that the inverter transformer is likely good. However, I should point out that this test is not 100% accurate for reasons described by PlainBill at

                Excellent breakdown on inverter transformers!
I noticed no one mentioned the 2 transistors in the inverter circuit. Are they discounted for whatever reason.

This thread is long overdue for some pictures. Please attach clear focused pictures of all your boards using the manage attachments feature. Please do not post inline.

Then we can see the 2 transistors in question.

Re: Dell 1905FP Won't Turn On

You have 4 transistors sandwiched in between the 2 transformers, but I can't make out the PCB designation because your photos are not clear enough.

They might be c5707s. You can test them "in circuit" without desoldering them for shorts. Measure the ohms between B-C, C-E, B-E. Any reading less than 30 ohms suggests a shorted transistor.

They are 13n07 4c37e. I checked them in circuit and they check out >30 ohms.

If you have a really good camera, that's 10m or better you're going to into your camera settings and reduce it down to about 5m.Then with some type of photo editor reduce the picture down to 2000x2000 that should allow you to post pictures using managed attachments.

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                                            by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

Issues Reviving Old Dell 2408WFPb Monitor
                                            by Jesus Coder
                                            Hello everyone,

I have been having some difficulties reviving an old Dell 2408WFPb PC monitor that I received for free. When I first acquired it, the backlights of the display were on but alas no image was showing. After extensive research on the topic, I went ahead and purchased a new t-con board for the monitor. After installing the board, I was then presented with a new screen that was half black and half green (more so black). I have been unable to figure out what to do next as I have limited knowledge of display electronics. Might anyone on this forum have an idea of what may...

Dell 34 inch U3419W Monitor with thin stripes on partial screen
                                            by ChristianBr01
                                            Hello everyone,
I have a Dell U3419W Monitor that has some thin stripes on a part of the screen since Tuesday.
This lines cover about a third of the screen and appear for 2 seconds before disappear for another 2 seconds.
This repeats the whole time. I have not opened the case yet cause I had no time, but will try to fix it on this weekend. For me, it looks like a problem on the TCon... Am I right?
Does someone have seen this before?...
