    Re: Viewsonic VG2030WM No Display

I removed D60 and it tests ok out of circuit. I then removed C61 and it is shorted.

I checked C20, C21, C60, and D10 and they all seem ok (in circuit).

I am looking for a replacement for C61 but there is nothing stamped on it. How do I find a suitable replacement? I have some other scrap boards that have similar capacitors on them that look to be the same physical size but they are unlabeled as well. Will any similar cap work?

    Thank you.

Looking at the datasheet for the AAT1164C, it appears this is a 1 uF ceramic cap.

I did some research and one of the boards I have laying here has some 1uF caps as well as some other various sizes. I desoldered one of those and placed it into the monitor and VOILA!! It is working!!!

Thank you very much for all of your help and input. It is greatly appreciated and this is an excellent forum.

        Thanks again!!!

That's how I do it anyways. Seems to work every time - just match the size and it's all good.
