    VP2130b problem after "repair"

Hi, I had trouble with the VP2130b not powering on immediately, so I guessed it was bad caps. I replaced 5 bulging capxion caps and some additional caps on the power supply board while I was in there.

This seems to have fixed the initial problem, the monitor starts immediately now but there is a new problem, likely caused by my fix.

There is a problem with dark and black areas, they have vertical red lines about 1 pixel apart. Also, there is a kind of tearing shadow to the right of the brighter colors. You can see the effect on the photo, the monitor on the right is the VP2130b and the left monitor shows the correct black level. The zoom shows the effect better.

Brighter colors look good with no apparent shadow or vertical lines

Any idea about which board is causing this problem, My instinct is that it's the video board but I'd like other opinions before I tear this thing apart again.

    Thanks
    David

Long shot, but try resetting your LCD back to factory defaults.

If that doesn't work, try reseating all your cables.

If the above doesn't work, then take it apart and carefully examine your solder work for the replacement caps and make sure all your internal connections are secure.

assuming you only did the power board with the right values and ratings.

I think you dislodged some cables while you are in there, reseat them see if it improves.
