    Korg ElecTribe EMX1 Looking for some help

    Hello, I have this Korg ElecTribe EMX1 on my table.

    The story: Customer plugged DC power supply and smoke came out.
    I have Correct 9v AC Power supply now.

    I fixed/replaced F1 mosfet and IC20 controller and Restored 3.3v

    I restored Fuse that was blown after IC20.

    I had to replace one Ram bank IC30 It was shorted. (3 ohms)

    Im waiting for NJM78L05UA to replace IC9 to restore +5VA

    IC19 I can't find replacement. 3.3v_Smart Media is missing.

    When I power up the device, LCD lights up, but nothing is showing on the screen.

    I'm looking for some help to learn how to check if CPU is running and Display core.
    Im thinking if I can't restore CPU and display, then there is no point trying to restore other rails.

    I have attached schematics. If anyone has some tips I will be eternally grateful.

      I did some digging,

      VA = Voltage Analog
      VD = Voltage Digitail

      That helps when you look into schematics.

          First thing I would do is work to get all the power rails sorted, as that will at least reveal whether you do in fact have any problem with the LCD, and in order to do that you will need the 78L05

          Have you checked that IC4 is getting power?
          +5v on pin 31 (VDD), Gnd on pin 21 (VSS)
          If that's missing then I'd check the voltage on IC14, although tbh, if the LCD is lighting up then IC14 is probably ok, if I'm reading it correctly.

              I do have 5vd yes.
              At the moment this project is on hold.
              I need to Replace IC9 to restore 5vA
              And more importantly I need to Replace IC19 To restore 3.3V_SM and SM_Power
              Ordered both chips. will take some time to get them.

                  I am currently working on a device that is not functioning properly. Power has been restored to all necessary rails, including the CPU, Display, 3.3V, 5V, and analog voltages (+ and -) as per the datasheet. However, the device is not responding and the display only has backlight.

                  I have a suspicion that the uPD77213 IC may be the root of the issue, but I am not experienced enough to perform any meaningful tests on the component. Additionally, I am unable to locate a replacement IC. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice on how to proceed with troubleshooting this problem.

                  I also have a Smart Media card with the bios, however, without the display and CPU working properly, it is not relevant. My intuition suggests that the focus should be on the display and CPU.

                  If anyone has access to the schematic(can be downloaded above) of the device and could check the connections between the display, the CPU and the uPD77213 and let me know if there's anything unusual or worth mentioning it would be a great help. I will also gladly provide more information about the device.

                      replaced cpu, and device powered up. so was worth it in the end.

                                  The LCD on my Korg KROSS2 keyboard is cracked and needs to be replaced.

                                  However, the cost of a replacement LCD is almost the same as the price of a second hand Korg KROSS!

                                  820-02020 A2338 Restore/Revive Failed

                                  A2338 - Pristine condition.. I took out of the board and inspected it.. nothing.. as if the computer is barely used even.

                                  Anyway, customer said they tried erasing/formatting it and it got stuck on Apple logo preventing to go further.. I asked them why they tried to erase it from the first place? They said it turned off randomly once.. then they erased it and it worked out for a few days then it shut off again..

                                  I put the computer in DFU; I downloaded the latest Ventura IPSW and restored it.. during the "Installing.." it restarts then it shows the exclamation...

                                  Hi. I need some help troubleshooting the issue (which is a bit odd to my limited experience) with the A2338 Macbook.

                                  Initial symptoms:

                                  One day the laptop refused to wake up (as it seemed at first), spinning the fan on full blast, with no picture on the screen.
                                  Force rebooting didn't help. To check if it boots at all I connected the external display and surprisingly it booted to the system, and I was able to log in to the system.

                                  iMac M1 DFU restore issue

                                  iMac turns on no drops no cracks, tried to DFU Restore the iMac, logo turns on great! however iMac turns itself off and then restarts to the (!) icon and won't post the restore. Tried thunderbolt 3 cable, tried regular USB C cable and nothing.

                                  this is the message it gives me with the error

                                  Unexpected device state 'DFU' expected 'RestoreOS' (Probably forced into DFU mode externally) [com.apple.MobileDevice.MobileRestore – 0xFAE (4014)].


                                  Any thoughts what this could be? I will open it up and repair it but I am not 100% sure since this iMac doesn't...

                                  is it possible restore data from the hdd with removed rom ic so, is there any way, theory or practice, to restore or calculate missing data in flashrom ic from actual data stored on disk platers? In other words, is data on disc somehow reachable, recover without original rom firmware, using exactly donor board, special lab hardware, etc?
