    Sony SA-CT60 soundbar component ID

    I have two components on the board that have designator GT that I am unfamiliar with. They look like glass diodes but diodes on this board are labeled with D. My search so far leads me to suspect they might be gas discharge tubes for transient suppression but they don't look quite like any gas tubes I have seen before. I hope somebody will know what they are.







    They are about 4mm long and each has different color bands.

      They`re Gas discharge Tubes for overvoltage surge protection.

              SPG spark gap. The color bar is the DC spark-over voltage rating. Here is one brand

                  Thank you, R_J, I've read up on SPG and it is a perfect fit. Knowing what the component is and what it does is helping me figure out the circuit.

                      What Zener Diodes on a Linear Power Supply

                      Dear members,

                      I have a linear variable power supply with unknown brand name that I used for voltage injection.
                      Then it failed. I discovered that its transistors (Q1 and Q2) are shorted.
                      In addition, I discovered that its zener diodes are defective.
                      I can replace the burned transistors.
                      But I do not know the model of the zener diodes. the model number is not marked on the zener diodes.
                      Therefore, I cannot replace the zener diodes.
                      I do not want to test the zener diodes in a test circuit to discover their model or value.
                      no schematics are available...

                      Buenas mi nombre es carlos me uni al foro porque estoy buscando el schematic de una sony vaio pcg-41217u otras formas de escribirlo son 1p-0117j01-a012 mbx-237 numero de placa revision 1.2 o Sony VPCSB (MBX-237), en fin me gustaria y ayudaria un monton si alguien me puede dar dichi svhematic para hacer las mediciones de una laptop de la mencionada anteriormente(Sony VAIO PCG-41217U) con el fin de repararla dejo de funcionar solo prende el led de la bateria al pulsar el boton de power el disco empiesa a hacer ruido de actividad pero los leds del frontas no reflejan acividad y no enciende la pantalla....

                      Sony KDL-46HX850 Can't upgrade/update firmware

                      Diagnosed this TV as having a failed main board which I've replaced with one from a KDL 55HX850. They are (supposedly) the same board.

                      Being 'Smart TV' it requires a firmware reboot when you swap out boards such as T-Con or main board. It starts with a black screen and flashing yellow and green LEDS, indicating it needs that firmware boot. The procedure described all over the web is to put the software into the root directory of a FAT32 formatted USB drive and it should load that up once plugged into USB1 port. But not for me.                       Sony HTG700 soundbar buttons not working.

                      Remote inputs are great and functional, but after 2 mainboard swaps the buttons have stopped working altogether, seemingly. The remote is required to power on and reset, but no amount of messing with it has gotten anything to respond.

                      Checked plugs, everything is good, unhooked it and tried a different main, nothing. As everything else is functional I have no clue what else to do.

                      Even replaced the button board itself, still no response.
