Re: Sony HTG700 soundbar buttons not working.
The moment after I made my last post I got it to work. New version of the keyboard [9-301-003-96] worked just fine. No idea why this one worked, the previous one didn't, but the original one did. Possibly DOA.
Daily reminder to not be an idiot, I guess.

Re: Sony HTG700 soundbar buttons not working.
Thought I would give an update that there has been little progress. Shoulda kept the main board that for-sure functioned, had I known this was going to happen.
So I'm reordering the parts to try it again. Schematics aren't revealing anything interesting and the lands/wires moving power are looking fine so it has to be something between the main board and the keyboard. My suspicion was the OLED board but that hasn't solved anything as of yet. Going to do a full reorder or parts to see what went wrong.

Sony HTG700 soundbar buttons not working.
Remote inputs are great and functional, but after 2 mainboard swaps the buttons have stopped working altogether, seemingly. The remote is required to power on and reset, but no amount of messing with it has gotten anything to respond.
Checked plugs, everything is good, unhooked it and tried a different main, nothing. As everything else is functional I have no clue what else to do.
Even replaced the button board itself, still no response.

Onkyo DX-C390's are Awful
Onkyo's 6-cd disc changers are abysmal to work on. Not only ideologically abysmal to see when I sit down at my bench, but a pain to remove parts out of, and a pain to start troubleshooting.
Has anyone had any luck actually fixing these things or do you just get rid of them? Because that's how I've been treating them unless I'm removing a jammed disc. They're just so primitive and terrible all around. Cheap enough to not order parts for but the parts themselves are so cheap. Feels like a waste of time.

Here are the instructions. Took me a while to hunt it down. Should help for RX-V4A, TSR-400, RX-V6A, TSR-700, and RX-A2A showing a WN9711 update. Gotta program the EEPROM.Re: Yamaha RX-A2A WN9711 Update

Re: LG BD560 Won't Spin BR Discs
Nearly decade-long necro but I hate when issues get posted and things aren't resolved so here's a simple solution for anyone still having this issue. You need a usb bar code scanner for this.
I've just replaced the pickup and main board in an LG BD175 and this is how you solve this problem: Replace the parts, do not put the shroud of the player on yet, turn it on and set it up, then go over to settings/options and press one category down so your menu cursor is on "display". Without entering the menu, enter on the remote "5177777"....
