LG NB4530A soundbar abruptly powering off

I've had my LG NB4530A soundbar for 7 years.
It's been great up until the past few days.

After playing sound for about 30 minutes it now shuts off abruptly.
There's no "GOODBYE" message on the LCD, and the standby light doesn't illuminate.
However, I can turn it right back on, but it will only stay on for minutes (or less) before dying again.

I'm looking at the service manual (attached) and there isn't a section addressing this kind of issue.
I do have a multimeter, and a rework station, but no oscilloscope.
I've already removed the mainboard for testing. I just don't know where to start looking.

    Where would you begin testing?
    Thanks for your ideas!

I strive to prevent e-waste as much as possible!

After 7 years, any electrolytic capacitors, also check for possible dry joints.

I checked some of the caps in the hottest area and they measured within spec, and I didn't spot any dry joints. I reached out to LG here in Korea about getting a replacement mainboard and they wouldn't sell me one, but they apparently still service this model so I set about putting it back together. And now it works just fine.

Since it was exhibiting the problem on my test bench before disassembly, possibly one of the ribbon cables or plugs needed reseating. Or maybe the gremlins departed when the case was opened? lol

Reminds me of the free 42" LG plasma I got from a shop. Apparently it would shut down after a few minutes. All I did was take the back off and blow the dead roaches off the sustain boards. Plugged it in and it never turned off by itself since.

Is there a heatsink on TAS5612LADDVR / ic701? If yes, change the thermal paste.

LG 55UH6150- trouble powering up, then half lit screen (pictures!)
            by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

I have some 24 volt switching power supply from my battery testing machine that I modified for a different switching power supply that is more suited for my new application and new purpose for testing BMS protection boards

Some New Preliminary testing of 21700 Tool battery cells to 2.00
            by sam_sam_sam
I decided to try a new approach to testing unbalanced battery cells with my battery testing machine that has more graph curve information and it looks like if you discharge them to 2.00 volts if the battery voltage does not come back to over 3.something volts you have some kind of issue with that battery cell

I going to do more testing and see if is the case or not

            More to come later

LG 60PV450 Possible Bad YSUS Need help confirming Diagnosis
            by PlasMatt
I have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...

Firmware file for LG SK10Y Soundbar stuck in Please wait loop needed
            by Daniel Larsson
            Hi,

My LG Soundbar, SK10Y, has somehow ended up in an endless "PLEASE WAIT" loop and I am now starting to suspect that the firmware is causing this, and I can't manage to connect via the app to push a new firmware in as it never really starts.

I can trick it to start via HDMI ARC and it actually starts up, flashes OPTICAL and then goes to ARC where the sound (including sub) is perfect, but the white led indicator keeps blinking and after 20 seconds it says "GOOD BYE" and shuts down.
During these seconds the function button is not working...
