Phonic MAX 860 clip / no output

    Hi,
Does anyone have experience of this amp? I've spent ours trying to repair this amp!
I have several Phonic MAX 860 amplifiers and they ALL have the same problem, more or less!
    This is the thing:
If I haven't been using the amplifier for a while it goes in to a "no output/clip mode".

    I'll try to explain:
When I power on the amplifier everything seems to be Ok. I connect a 8 ohm dummy load to the outputs. All still Ok.
I connect inputs to a signal source and play some music on low volume and everything is still Ok.
But when I increase the volume a bit, (at least) one channel goes in to some kind of "very very weak distorded output mode". The peak led I lighting and the output turns of (almost).
Now I have to turn down the volume and wait a while. Sometimes it "comes back" pretty quick and sometimes I have to wait several minutes or longer.
If I repeat this a few times, and carefully increase the volume until the amplifier goes in to clip (max output), the amplifier works perfectly!
Now I can play forever and drive it to clip constantly without any problems at all! I can turn off and on and play. All Ok. I can leave it powered off a few days and power on and use it and it works perfectly!
Now, if I don't use it for, say a month or so, I'm back where I started, i.e. the amplifier goes in to "protection mode" again and I have so "soften it up" again.
There is no loose contacts or noisy sound anywhere. No scratching sound in the potentiometers at all. When it work, it works 100%

If you know about this or have experience about similar problems, please help!
If you don't, please don't try to guess!

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
    by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

Sony HCD-HX80R Amplifier Volume Control Problem
    by crackedprint
I have a strange fault on a Sony amplifier. The volume control varies the display from MIN, then 1 up to 30 and then MAX as expected. At MIN there is no sound. However, at 1 it is quite loud and increasing above 1 does not change the sound level.

I have tried a Cold Reset as per the service manual.

I have looked at the I2C clock and data to volume control chip IC501 (BD3499FV). Data is only sent to IC501 when the volume is set to MIN or 1. At any other setting no data is sent to IC501.

I have looked all the way through the service manual and tried many online...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
    by FrancescoV
    Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
    M:1.00/11107BLP
    D:?.??/????????
    O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
    by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

Vizio D65x-G4 Volume changes on its own
    by karthur
On this Vizio D65x, the volume will change on its own. I don't mean like during commercials where the volume will increase. I mean its like the (+) volume button on the remote is pressed and the actual volume dialog is displayed on the screen going up. It will do this, then the volume may start going down. It might go all the way to "0"or it might stop at a different number, then start going back up. The whole time its doing this, the volume dialog is shown on the screen.

It wont do it until it has been "ON" for 20 or 30 minutes, so it does seem to be heat related....
