Managed to acquire another amp .
Swapped out the volume control , to prove beyond any doubt that's the cause of the problem.
Stripped down the control again & this time discovered the issue .
There's a break in some of the tracks , which i didn't notice before ,as they are at the very bottom end where the plastic frame is .
tried to to link , but solder won't take & to be honest wouldn't have worked correctly anyway .
Now need to source correct control .

Been doing some detective work of my own.
ALPS RK16812MG seem to cover this range of motor driven potentiometers .
From there i found adding 04YA at the end brings up a 50K type on E BAY .
Ali Express is cheaper though.
Only issue might be is if potentiometer track differs , but at that price , worth a pop.Comment

I suspect Onkyo are quite tight on supplying part to non agents .

Did that worked? My Onkyo a-9010 is with the exact same problem.
Oficial repairer wants 170€ which is almost the same that I paid for it 6 years ago, ridiculous.Comment

OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…
Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.
As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right!

Hello, I’m checking a board 820-02773 that arrived showing 5V and a consumption of 0.40A. Present voltages: PPBUS: 12.3V, PP3V08_AON: 3.8V, 5V_AON: 5V. I also have 3.3_UPC present on the USB controllers.
The problem is that I don’t have any S2 voltage present on the motherboard. The PMIC U8100 is not sending out the LDO voltages. Even so, the PMIC is being powered correctly with 3.8V, and its 3.8V and 5V boost voltages are present, as well as its 32kHz clock. However, none of the buck or LDO rails are present.

nm-e531 i tried all kinds of bios editing and it doesn't work. it doesn't have schematic but it has boardview with board ID details in it.
maybe you could help me how to shift these resistors to disable its onboard ram.

This laptop won't power on , when power supply is on it takes 0.001 , button trigger on it becomes after a couple of seconds 0.061 amp..and nothing
No heating (Of COURSE) , no short to GNd at all coils present , 3/5 valw is present , 3/5 vl present.
With the power plane , at state 4 +1.8VALW and +3ALW_PCH must be present but no one due to enable signal is missing .
when button trigger on , 3v dow to zero than 3v , the super io send BTN_OUT#_R to pch but no rsmrst ..0v.
i follow his line , no short .

Hi to all,
I was given this TV, an entry-level 4K 50" set. Some have criticized its lack of contrast and relatively poor colour rendering, but for my needs, it's very decent.
I reset everything to factory settings, but this line keeps on fading in and out when watching a streaming channel from the Tizen firmware. Interestingly, it only happens when TV is warm, after about 1h45 of it being turned on.
