    Technics KN550 muting

I have recently discovered my old Technics KN550 synth that I used to play on back in the 1990s. I powered it up and it still works, with one minor issue - the speakers don't make any sound! I can hear the output through the headphone jack, and while inserting and removing the headphones sometimes one of the speakers will crackle and turn on momentarily.

I suspect this is an issue with the cutoff circuit that mutes the speakers when you plug in headphones; it's activating even when there are no headphones plugged in! Hopefully this would be an easy fix - any advice?
You know there's something wrong when you open your PC and it has vented Rubycons...

The Headphones Jack needs replacing. The audio Output is working since you can hear thru the phones. Start with the easy thing--Replace the headphones jack.

Try spraying some contact cleaner in the audio jack. Wait to dry out before powering up the unit.

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
        by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

        Windows 10 & Wireless Headphones
        by Logistics
So I found my wife a pair of Sony MDR-100ABN's, and we were goofing with them yesterday. She has a new HP Sceptre with Windows 10. I don't know 10 at all so my blood pressure goes up trying to navigate the unruly interface.

I played with lots of settings yesterday, when I was trying to make the headphones connect to the laptop over bluetooth including, the MIC settings since we were playing with the Noice-Cancelling setting on the headphones. I ended up putting the MIC setting back to the Intel default on the laptop, but the output for the headphones.

        Move forward to...

Sony WH 1000XM4 Headphones always on because of corosion?
        by dbuergi
        Hi all,

i got these headphones which were not charging or powering on. I found some corosion around the charging port and power board. After cleaning the headphones took a charge but directly powered on.
The power button ist without any reaction. I suggest that there ist still some gunk under the button and i get an always power on. Do you have any suggestions what to do? Is it possible to desolder the button for a cleaning?
I could replace the board for 25 euros but maybe there is another way?

Connecting charger cable causes Sony WH-10000MX2 bluetooth headphones to stop working
        by Califauna
        Hi,

I have a pair of WH-10000MX2 bluetooth headphones with a strange problem. Connecting the charging cable causes the headphones to no longer turn on when pressing the power button.

I thought I had 'fixed' this when I took them apart and disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and found as soon as you disconnect the battery they can be powered on and off as normal using the power button. But then the moment you connect a charging or data cable to a charger or laptop USB port, the power button stops working and the can't be turned on again. No response.

        The...
